Bitches

Nice how yesterday a few of my co-workers (3 witches Macbeth) bought a cake for another co-worker (Nice old lady) and had a little birthday party for her, and I was the only person in the department to not get invited. It's not a big department, only 7 of us. Unbelievably and utterly rude and hurtful. I know they are not fond of me, nor I of them, but at the same time show some decency. Anytime I ever bring in something for whatever occasion I always offer it up to everyone. And it is not even about the cake, I couldn't eat it anyhow, it is the fact that I look like the asshole that did not come to the party. Those bitches will NOT break me. I am not the same shy, lets everyone walk all over her door mat, I was 80 pounds ago. I am the bigger person here, even if not physically anymore =). They will all be sorry when my name is on that door and they are calling me boss.

Sorry I just needed to get that out. This place is such a damn zoo sometimes.

Sorry that happened to you but that says a hell of alot about what kind of people they really are! I think they are selfish, rude and obviously intimidated by you! You should actually feel proud that you are not part of that in crowd. I wo9uld be the woman who's bday it was a card and be sure to point out that you were not there because they didn't invite you.

OMG girl I know exactly how it is. I was told by one of my co-workers I better not look better than her (o and she is supposed to be my friend). Well guess what, I do look better than her at 240 lbs and I will look even better at 150! I can change my weight but she can't change the way she looks! Ok that was so nasty of me but I needed to get that off my chest too!

Oh, I absolutely loath working with other women. It has just never worked out well!

Me too!!

I'm currently working as a bookkeeper for a construction equipment business with 7 guys, but they are bringing on a female salesperson starting the first of the year and all I can think about is how I wish they hadn't hired a woman. I'm totally freaked that she is going to try to walk all over me and treat me like someone "beneath" her that she can order and push around.

What's wrong with us? We should be able to stick together and support each other but it has only worked that way for me in a workplace setting once in 20 years.

geez. sounds like my office, 13 people, one man-he just moved to another position not in our office/but still half way in our office until he finds a replacement.

so, 12 women couped up together 40 hours a week, the claws come out and the hissing starts.

-the name on the door thing is a good way to think.....that'll show 'em.

I hear ya.

There's about 12 of us women in the main office (Customer service, and me in sales). They do parties & what-not.. the boss said no more doing this, because they don't do it for everyone, and people's feelings get hurt (me included!!). They don't even know my b'day.. and that's fine, I don't need a cake, but it does hurt when others get it.

Well the no-party rule went well for a while. I was married in July. I invited all the CSR girls.. 2 of them I consider good friends.. and they came. The others I go to lunch with and we're nice, but I don't consider them much beyond co-workers. We hired a new CSR girl, a TEMP.. 1 month after being here, she got married. Well, the girls who I INVITED TO MY RECEPTION and I didn't even get so much as a congrats card or a no on the rsvp card.. e-mailed me saying they're all chipping in money to buy the NEW TEMP GIRL a target card for her wedding!! Then they rolled her office, bought her a cake, took digital pictures of a congrats card THEY MADE and emailed it to her on her honeymoon. I was beyond hurt. I got mad, and told one of the CSR's I am friends with that I'll be damned if I contribute, and when they'd come to my office askin me to participate it's all I could do to say.. what the hell happened when *I* got married?!

Anyway, my rant.. I hate office cliques.

Me too.

My job, office mgr at a private golf club, is pretty much a loner type job, other then the members who pop in to talk. Well theres a girl in the kitchen whos my age and I got along well with, she's a great worker and smart. So I trained her to help me while I was on vaca, since then I come in and find my computer on, QB's up, I've had to change my passwords - grrrr - if that isn't enough to piss me off she's made a couple comments in front of board members (aka my bosses) - like oh Steph's been playing on the internet all morning and then laugh about it. She crossed the line one day and when that member left I stomped into the kitchen and said what the hell was that all about? Trying to get me in trouble? She said oh they know I was just kidding - I said it sounds like you're trying to make me look bad - the chef then piped in and said yeah she can do that on her own she doesn't need your help. hehe - take it however you want... I guess it was his way to relieve the tension. Then at the end of the season, the Golf Pro was leaving and giving his goodbyes and she kisses him - on the lips - ok - so RED FLAG! So much for trusting her to help me.

Good Grief Steph that's terrible! Keep an eye on her. (as if you aren't already)

The last job I was at where I was the only female before they hired a second. Within 6 months of her being hired she had successfully worked her way into the owner's trousers and me out of my job. Supposedly she had convinced the owner that my position was redundant and no longer needed but low and behold within 2 weeks of my being "laid off" she convinced him she made a mistake and he hired her daughter.

Wow. It is comforting to know that others have to deal with the same crap.

I dunno it just frustrates me to no end that crap like this happens. I can work with anyone, even people I can not stand, and you would never know the difference. I always try to treat everyone with respect. Yet it just gets me crapped on time and again. I don't want to toot my own horn, but I am an excellent employee. I work hard and get my job done quickly and efficiently. I pick up on things easily. It's not my fault I was born that way. But why do I have to suffer for it ya know? I try to be helpful and I get accused of being bossy. I try to stay away from everyone and I get accused of not being a team player. I can not win with these people. The only good thing is that my boss does recognize what is going on. Unfortunately she is too "nice" and not so much of a "boss" know what I mean? Tries to be everyones friend, says things and does not follow through. I love her to death and enjoy the freedom I get in this job but I wish she had a bit more control of her employees.

I've worked with women when I had an office gig and worked with men when I was building airplanes and I much prefer working with men.

Yes, that's also why I swore I would only work for myself from now on. I don't think I'll ever go back to a setting where I have to work with other women - EVER!!

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
