Fiber Choice

Recommended Posts

I bought a large jar of Fiber Choice w/Calcium pills yesterday. I told 2 this afternoon as instructed and for the last hour or so my stomach has been killing me. I read the bottle again and it says if you have bloating or minor gas to temporary cut back on the dosage. This is the 1st time I have ever even tried this. Do I want to torture myself tomorrow and take another pill. Not really!! I just hate to have wasted $12. I thought these would be good being that they have Calcium and fiber.

Has this happened to anyone else? I am just wondering if this is normal, one day usage or if it's b/c I am banded. Also, I am using a heating pad that's not really helping. Any tips to eleviate the pain??

If the pain doesn't lesson soon, I would consider calling your doc.

As for taking it again. Know that fiber expands in the stomach, that's why people take it to help them feel full. I would wait until you feel back to normal and then, if you need the fiber to help regulate your system, try taking a smaller dose. Remember, your stomach is nowhere near the size expected for a 'normal' person/dose.

That's my two cents.

Good luck.

I take one in the morning and one in the evening. You can also break them in half. I would start out with a smaller dose and see how it feels. Long before I had surgery, I had to cut back from two at a time.

Thanks for the info. I went ahead and took one pill this afternoon. That's a good idea to try and break them up and take the twice during the day instead of both pills at one time.

Ug, those things get stuck in my teeth so bad, it's worse than taffy! I like benefiber better. No smell, no taste, and you can put it in anything.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
