I know I had a bad day Monday. I was all set for my surgery to be Tuesday, the 27th, then the doctor's office called and told me that they had to reschedule me for NEXT tuesday. The night before I had gone through such a turmoil, not being able to sleep, knowing that my life was going to change so dramatically. But, also excited and looking forward to the changes. Then, they call and reschedule me! I've been on two weeks of liquids, and felt very rebellious and went out to eat that night. Made me feel somewhat better (part of the reason I'm overweight now, comfort eating!!!) but also guilty at the same time. I'm back on my liquids now and ready for NEXT tuesday. Just praying that they don't reschedule AGAIN!!! I've come to the conclusion though that nothing ever goes exactly like you want it to, and somehow I've got to learn to deal with these things some other way than turning to food.< /p>

We are all human. These are not 'bad times'...they're excusable momentary lapses of reason.

ooooh! What she said!!!

girl, that's GOOD, I'm gonna be borrowin' that!

losingjusme, don't be too hard on yourself. food was your (OUR!) comfort for SO many years. No reason to think it wouldn't be the first place we still turn. I'm gonna pray for you. I know what its like to go through bad stuff -- ESPECIALLY when DH is away, isn't that always when the feces hits the fan?

candy -- Girl, I feel ya! I had my surgery rescheduled TWICE, too. First time I was prepped and about to go into OR, second time I was in OR and OUT, I can't begin to tell you how I felt when they woke me up and sent me home withOUT a band!!! It'll happen, just be patient.

Oh Nana, I would have REALLY been upset if I had gone through that! I would have probably had to find a new surgeon, because the one I have would have dumped me for the fussing out I would have given him!!! I'm so glad I didn't get that far. At least they DID call me before I did the bowel prep!

I guess I handled it okay. (I tho't I was REALLY upset.) But when I finally quit crying long enough and called the surgeon's office after the SECOND date to see when we would reschedule and to insist that I never lay eyes on that Anest. again, they seemed genuinely shocked to hear from me.

She said the Doctor had told them about it and had guessed I would blow the whole thing off. I was like, "Oh Hell No! I didn't get this close to quit NOW!"

LOL

Its ok to melt once in awhile. It will not destroy everything you have done for yourself this far. Just start al over again tommorrow. WE all have the tendancy to self medicate when life sucks. Just don't let it happen very often and you will be fine

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
