Anyone go thru Lap Band Solutions/True Results/AIGB in Houston?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if anyone went thru Lapband Solutions/True results/AIGB in Houston (goes by diff names). They have a large network of doctors, it appears. Their texas base appears to be Dallas.

How efficient were they in submitting your request for preauthorization and letter of medical necessity to your insurance company?

How friendly and easy were they to work with?

Were they willing to answer questions, if you called to check on the status of your "case"?

How long from when they contacted you and said you had benefits and they would submit the info, until the time you heard back from your insurance company with either an approval or denial?

At this point in time, I'm planning on using them, and they have submitted the letter of medical necessity to my insurance company, although I'm not sure of the exact day. I called insurance company last Wednesday and they did not have anything in the system yet.

I want to call and ask them when it was sent off, but I don't want to be a pest. I also would really like a copy of the letter for my file, but I don't know if they would give it to me.

Thanks in advance

They are wonderful. I initially went through them and because of insurance requirements had to change. They were kind enough to find a doctor that would be acceptable to my insurance company.

Went to see them first (in Austin, TX). They told me during the process that I would have to go to San Antonio for the surgery because they did not have facilities in Austin. They were going to get them eventually but not for awhile.

When I told them that I wouldnt be able to do that (kids, school, work, etc) I asked for help to find a local facility. They said they would help me and I never, ever heard from them again. I had to do the research and everything on my own (wasnt hard, but TrueResults promised they would help).

I would NEVER refer them to anyone. The guy at the front desk who was answering phones turned out to be the "physician" I saw for the medical evaluation. Made me really leery.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
