Post-Op Menstruation Issues

Recommended Posts

Hi folks - I know about fat loss triggering higher estrogen levels, but I am now 20 days post-op and I have been on my period for 19 of those days, starting day 2 of post-op. Has this happened to anyone else?

not to me personally (I was post-menopausal when I had my surgery, but I've heard this before. It's not uncommon.

I'm glad to hear that it's been heard of before. I am confused about it because I didn't have PCOS (at least nobody ever diagnosed me with it!) and I've never really had problem periods but it is definitely making me miserable.

it's just the hormone dump people talk about. They'll be out of whack for awhile but will eventually normalize again.

I started my period two days after surgery. It's been over a week and I'm only spotting right now. My periods are normally 7-10 days long (including spotting at the beginning and the end) so if it goes on after Christmas then I know it's out of whack.

My period started 2 days after surgery and it was 2 weeks early. I had another period 2 weeks after that. My periods are back to normal 3 months post op. Hang in there. You're system is temporarily out of whack.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
