Wow! That is awesome!!! I had my surgery back in 2018 and lost about half of that by the two month mark. Matter of fact, it took me 5 months to lose that much.

Congratulations!!!

I want to congratulate you on your progress so far. I understand why you question if you have lost enough weight post-op. However, I want you to know that every individual body reacts differently to the surgery. There are many compounding factors that play a role in the rate at which you lose weight such as genetics, weight, and height at the time of surgery. Therefore, you and your body are doing great! Keep up the hard work.

1. It sounds like you are doing GREAT!! 2. Don't go by anyone else. Everybody is different and lose at different rates. So go by how you feel and what your surgeon says.

Wow, that's fantastic! I have a billion pounds to lose (well, 150 ish) and I dont think I'll be anywhere near 70 at my 2 month point - I'm thinking I might be over-optimistic hoping for ten pounds a month at the moment. Great job!

Average weight loss is between 2-4lbs per week.

Congrats! You are super successful. Keep doing what you're doing!!!

You're doing spectacular! I was 10/22/19 and I'm at 48 pounds since then. I've been told that was awesome and there's no way I'll get to 70 at 2 months so you're kicking my butt!

Fill out your surgery profile so we know starting weights, surgery weights and what type you had!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
