Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY

Recommended Posts

The picture on the left was taken on 1/14/07, 10 days before my surgery and one day before my pre-op diet began. The picture on the right was taken on 4/16/07, almost exactly 3 months later. I've only lost 28 lbs, but I think you can still see a difference. :clap2:

You've all been more than generous, posting your photos and giving me so much courage and ambition to do this.

My first set of photos are from 2 days before surgery. The second set is two months later; about 28 pounds. I've not yet had a fill due to a 90 day waiting period, which is scheduled for May 8 - 1st fill! So right now I'm in bandster hell; hungry as anything - no restriction. I'm trying to do my best…but I can feel old habits lingering closely. This is NOT easy to do.

I was going to wait until I made it to 100 pounds lost to post pics, but close enough! LOL!!

The first one was one week after surgery. I was at 309 at the time, down ten pounds post surgery.

The others are from the last two weekends, down 90 pounds. I was at 229 at the time. (At least I'm not afraid of cameras anymore! )

One year banded 4/11/07 Progression photos.

I am currently undergoing intensive weight training and expect to be close to goal weight/ fat% by July, 2007. I tried to reduce the size of these pictures by lowering the pixeling however you may see the pixel (squares).

My husband and I - Progression pictures. The before shot was taken on 4/07/06 and the After shot was taken 4/6/07. My husband is not banded but has lost the weight by working out with me at Gold's. Way to go DH!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
