I used to have difficult veins to find for blood draws. Now my doc didn't even have to do the pressy pressy thing, he could see the vein right through the skin.

Skinny arms FTW

@ummyasmin

such a great NSV!! you must be thrilled!!☺️

I thought/hoped my bi monthly blood draws would be easier once i lost weight

unfortunately, i'm told my stupid veins are deep, and they "roll"

Therefore, i'll watch you, and be happy for your well deserved NSV.

kathy

congrats

yooooo this exact thing happened to me today. I even said something. I was like.... whoa... you can see my vein! and the nurse was like "it's like a firehose line". absurd. no digging and multiple sticks.

This happened to me on my 3 month and 6 month post-op blood draws and I didn't even think of it - doh!

On surgery day they stuck me 4 times, couldn't do it, then the anaesthesiologist had to come and do it with a baby needle on my inside wrist. Ouch. Big difference now.

Congrats to us! The NSVs just keep racking up!

Well maybe I'm just a dark📍 balloon on the horizon, but I Do Think my veins roll more now that. I don't have all my stabilizing. fatty blubber to hold things in place. But I guess black and blue marks where blood goes "out" or very infrquently" in " is the trade- off I must live with- I still am thrilled that my hard work FINALLY "paid off" and I am one- half the SIZE I once was. I now can wear clothes looking like THIS.👗

Oh my Oh my Do I ever have something to Cheer About, an N.S.V. I didn't anticipate happening!
Today I took a Shower, okay okay NOT THE FIRST IN MY lifetime. After YEARS and Years of experience using a Beach Towel or. a Terry Cloth Bath-sheet, I got out a Normal sized Bath Towel, not only did it wrap ALL the WAY around but I had Lap- over Room and could tuck the Edge in. Isn't THAT a Sweet NSV? Because I am So So Proud I've stuck IT through to this point in LIFE and Holy Holy Hip-hop, I AM APPROACHING TRULY AVERAGE/NORMAL SIZE FOR A HUMAN- TYPE PERSON! And I am Over Joyed! 👈😜👉

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
