How many pounds do you lose per week/per month?

Recommended Posts

My weight loss has slowed a lot lately. I was going from losing a pound a day, to now maybe a pound a week. I have calculated that over the last two months I have lost 11 lbs and I am 6 months out. For the last two months I have been bouncing around the same weight for a while... it's been a real struggle to lose.

Can some of you 5 month plus people tell me how much you are losing per week and per month?

Thank you!

It's really slowed down for me and I've checked and double-checked that I'm doing everything I'm supposed to be.

I charted my weight every week and did some math and figured out I'm currently losing .32 per day. That's about 2 lbs per week (sometimes less because,,, life happens.) I don't think it will always be that way.

I guess, looking at that chart above, I'm in range. I started off - with my RNY in Feb - at 306. I've lost 57 lbs.

Just seems so slow but I guess it all adds up!

I had surgery in February too. My weight loss is very slow, even though I should be losing more, I am not. I lost 5 pounds in June and 7.5 in July. Nothing this month, in fact I weigh the same as July 26th. I have to do something to kickstart my weight loss, because I still need to lose 87 pounds and if I only have lost 73, can you imagine how hard it will take to lose the rest? Hoping I will still lose till 18 months. Check out the app get 2 goal. At first I was way ahead of where I should be, now I'm barely hanging on to being ahead. Some people lose faster, but it is hard to not compare.

We will get there frou frou!

At 9 months out, I am now expected to lose between 7-10lbs per month... but I've basically reached my goal weight and it's slowed lately. Like a pound week is okay with me now... I realize these last 15 will probably drag....

I’m approaching 13 months out from WLS and my overall weight loss has been 1.86/week
However it was much higher in the earlier phases of my weight loss journey. But even so, I’m down 125 lbs so who cares how slow it comes off as long as it comes off????

I haven’t had surgery yet but this all sounds wonderful to me! I wasn’t heavy until my 40s (I think I came out of the womb thinking I was) and I’m in my 60s now. Every since high school I’ve made calendars and in later decades spreadsheets figuring out how long it would take me to lose the x pounds I wanted to take off at 1.5-2 pounds a week. I NEVER succeeded. I might get the weight off in the earlier years but never that fast and never permanently. Have heart. You are making beautiful progress!

I am averaging 6-7 pounds a month now. So pretty close to what you are losing. I feel like I am slow loser in comparison (which I know we shouldn't do) to others who had same starting stats as myself. As long as it keeps coming off I'll be happy with that. You are right, it all adds up, just keep on keeping on. We'll get to our goals.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
