10 days Post Op 27lbs down!

Hey guys. I am 10 days Post Op Sleeve and I am down 27lbs! That awesome to me and scary at the same time. Dr says it great. He did sound a little shocked though.

Is this normal? How much weight did you lose in the first week?

  • I lost 15 pounds pre-op and 10 more in the next 10 days. "Normal" is what happens to you - just follow the plan and don't compare too much with others. Some people are fast losers and others are slowe

  • Awesome way to look at it. Thanks!

What's your diet like are you still on liquids and protein shakes ?

that's definitely on the high side. I don't remember what I lost the first 10 days, but I lost 16 lbs the entire first *month*.

I know it's very common for super heavy people like 600 lb Lifers to drop 30+ lbs the first month, that's pretty high for us more "normal" WLSers. I don't have any research to back this up, but just hanging out on various internet boards for the last five years or so, I would say that most of us lose somewhere in the 15-25 lb range the first month. So you are well ahead of the pack!

It varies from person to person and also depends on your age, how much you weighed to start with, etc. Congratulations on your rapid weight loss, but be sure to have realistic expectations going forward.

You’re Doing Great! Keep killin it! Hubz and I are 18 days out he’s lost 42lbs and I’ve lost 31 lbs. We had our post op a couple Day’s ago and our Dr said to keep up the great work!

Congratulations!! Keep up the great work!
