Post surgery MENUS?

Recommended Posts

Is there a place on this forum that people post their daily menus? I know there are posts scattered here and there, but just curious if there's a specific place on here that people will post what they eat on the daily? Their Breakfast, lunch, dinner, Snacks?

I'm 3+ years out from VSG and haven't lost anything in over 2 years. I initally lost 100lbs but have gained back 30, and now I'm trying to get back on track and have lost 5 of those lbs. I stupidly went back to old habits and don't want it to get worse than it is. Just looking for ideas on what other people eat on a daily basis. Thanks!

I am still Post Op week 1 in my revision surgery so I wanted to show you some extra support. I think this is great!

I know my biggest challenge for me will also be getting in exercise :( I think I am allergic to it like I am shellfish :) I need to find the cure to that ASAP! Sending positive vibes and prayers for loads of menus.

I don’t know if there’s already one, but I’d be willing. To post my daily menus

I tried to get a daily menu thread going a while back, but it never really took off.

I'd participate if you ran it.

The bad thing is that if you create a new menu thread each day it will quickly fill up the right side bar of recent posts with "Daily Menu" threads and be very very annoying. So it's important to plan it out so it isn't intrusive to those who don't want to be part of the Daily Menu. You know?

Yeah, there are some of those on forums on different platforms, and they come and go in popularity.

Perhaps if we stick to a single thread that everyone updates daily, rather than a new thread each day, its volume would stick it into the "Trending Topics" section on the right and not monopolize the "Recent Topics" section, Just a thought.

OP here. Yeah, I'm thinking a single daily thread would be great. I think it would give everyone plenty of ideas too.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
