I cant believe I'm 2 and a half weeks post OP!

Recommended Posts

6/24/19 was my rny surgery date. The first 2 weeks was emotionally hard for me. Thinking of all the things I can’t have. Not being able to go out to eat like I used to. Just feeling sorry for myself. But since I have been advanced to the next stage of my post op diet I feel much better physically and emotionally. I have eaten some things I am not supposed to. Even though it’s just a little nibble I feel so bad and get upset with myself. I feel like I’m not losing as fast as others but in reality I think I am doing ok. My clothes don’t fit me anymore and I have way more energy. I’m am starting to accept my new life with my new pouch. It’s been a roller coaster of emotions in a short time but I’m glad I went through with it.

I'm 11 days post op and still on full liquid diet til July 20. Yesterday was a tough day for me where I just missed food, biting, and chewing. I got through it with warm broth and sf popsicles, but couldn't stomach another Protein Shake. I'm hoping things will get better once i can have puree foods.

It's exciting, isn't it? I'm 7 months post-op sleeve now and so happy I did the surgery.

I'm 12 days out, and weight isn't falling off me fast, but then I didn't expect it to. At least it's a steady downward trend

I'm having no problems with anything, though I am tired of shakes. 2 a day is fine, but that 3rd one is not pleasant. Mashed potatoes with shaved ham tomorrow though, as I move into purees!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.Β  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.Β  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❀️ Together, we got this!
