Anyone else having their consult on the 8th or around that date? I have my first consult with Dr. Ayzengart and I am beyond ready to start my process. I’ll have 4 months of weight checks with my PCP so I’ll only need two more and whatever else he has me doing.

Good luck to you. There will be lots of other tests that you'll need to have done...for me it was an Endoscopy within the previous 2 years, sleep study, psych eval., and 6 months of pcp weight management visits.

Thank you! I’m beyond ready for my appointment. I have to travel almost 2 hours to my appointment due to them being the only closest doctors who accept my insurance. I can’t wait to get the list so I can get the ball rolling.

OMG thats clear out of Florida if not all the way! You didn't have to go to Georgina or Alabama, did you? And I thought I was bad off being 50 miles from Columbus! But you got to do whAt you got to do and I surely do wish you Well in All of THIS!

I have to go to Gainesville FL. I’m like at the state line of Florida and Georgia! There was a place in Jacksonville that I was trying to go through but they don’t accept my insurance and I can’t pay out of pocket. With my insurance, it’s paid for completely as long as it’s medically necessary.

At first I was just going to give up and not do it, but my boyfriend convinced me. He told me he’s willing to take me to every appointment, if that is what’s going to make me happy. He knows I hate taking pictures or having them taken of me. He’s seen me at my best and worst, so he knows I’m not happy with myself.

Today would have been my Daddy's birthday- i he would have been 106 if he was still alive, this means. he died in 1996, just past his 80th birthday. Wowee- almost a lifetime ago! I do hope in some way , on some level , he is watching and proud of ME! Maybe I would feel better if he's telling the other Angels " That's my little girl doing THAT!" Sorry, I'm crying a little, that's the bad part about outliving your family , no one to hug you, no one to share your joys!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
