I am also looking forward to being able to get into the car without assisting my left leg, I usually have to lift it :(

I’m afraid even the little things I want won’t be achieved. But I’d love to wear shorts that aren’t Long Bermuda, actually Im wearing exercise capris because my sizing is abnormal. I just want to fit normal clothes without discomfort and pain.

Id love to walk by a store mirror and not feel disgusted by what I see.

I’d like to be able reach my goal and have a thigh tuck so walking won’t be so uncomfortable. (Ok that’s a big one) I just want a normal size stomach too.

I want to be able to wear a bathing suit with tankini top and boy shorts and not feel awkward. (Of course it would help if I wasn’t allergic to chlorine) I know I will never be comfortable in a regular swimsuit.

Maybe get out of the habit of wearing long oversized men’s t-shirts. Though my clothes have always been fairly neutral denim and t-shirts. Skirts? Dresses? I can’t picture that.

I have some new clothes in a bin I’d bought when I started gaining back weight. I bought one size up but It hit me so fast that they never actually fit. At the least I’d like them to fit, someday - comfortably loose and not too tight.

Funny thing is I started writing this and forgot, and it was still here when this post popped up again.

I cant have goals of exercising more, or doing more activities. My health won’t allow that. But just to not carry the burden if extra weight is enough. Just having the tool to get the weight off is enough. At least for a small goal. It won’t fix everything but just being able to move around easier in bed, and already feeling like I carry lead weights was made carrying extra pounds even harder ...

i don’t know that I’ll ever shake seeing myself as being fat. But if I can reach even one goal it would be nice. For now my goal is to figure out the cause of some new medical problems and go from there.

I’m optimistic for you. I think you are setting your goals a little low, but that’s me. I think you will exceed your goals. I don’t think I’m as large as I am, until I walk by a mirror. Then reality sets in, and yes a little shame. Please try to remember, Shame and guilt are sports of participation. Don’t play the game. You are a beautiful butterfly, trapped in it’s cocoon. You will break out, unferal your winds and fly. Your are marvelous!

  • To be able to cross my legs - I honestly don't know if I ever could. I wasn't a huge child, but its so long ago that I can't recall.
  • To be able to go out in public (a train to NYC, out to eat) and not feel like the biggest person, be the biggest person or get made fun of (that has happened several times in NY City).
  • To not shop in a plus size store. It's been since high school and I'm 40 now.
  • To lose weight and finally keep it off (I've been successful at losing before).
  • To live longer - I want to be there for my family. I have an amazing and supportive husband and a wonderful son, who also struggles a bit with weight (not as much as I ever have).
  • To be an example for my son.
  • To prove everyone wrong.
  • To rock pretty dresses and shoes with wedges/heels.
  • To feel confident.
  • To live free of this fat that has trapped me pretty much my whole life. I don't know what a thin version of me would look like. I haven't met her yet.
  • To say I'm "100-whatever lbs" - OMG it really is one-derland because I haven't been there since high school.
  • I could go on, but I won't. I keep worrying about the surgery so much...am I doing the right thing, all of this, but since my small list is so large, I think I know I'm making the right choice. It is hard. I wish you all the best, every day.

I am looking forward to being healthy. To be able to keep up with my 5 yo grandson and 10 mo granddaughter. I'm looking forward to enjoying activities like biking, hiking, running, squats and exercise in general. I'm also looking forward to finally getting married to my soulmate next Spring. I've waited 12 yrs because I refused to marry him until I lost the weight. He has been my rock and my biggest cheerleader! No matter what was happening with my body, he was there to take care of me through all my ailments. He has been there through all my insecurities, making me feel special and loved. I'm beyond blessed to have such a loving and caring family and circle of friends in my life!!

Move over Fluffy Chix, I want. to have 👣Orange toesies too!

I so feel you there. I'm losing my balance more often that I did before. It's quite embarrasing when you bump into someone. I was in the cafeteria last week eand I lost my balance and bumped into the guys back sitting behind me. All I thought was, "Please don't tell me that I have mistakenly pushed his face into his food." Since this was during my first day at my new job, doing this would have definitely been a lasting first impression. Thank gawd that it was only a minor bump and not a face meeting plate/table one.

One Vote for----" You're Cool Already!" Alas I am neither an Interviewer nor an Employer, too often they look at the 🐢Outer Shell not the Good Things you contain inside. And BABY they are the 👎LOSERS for such an attitude! The Best Person😛 for a job may not be built like a👗 Stick Figure.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
