Tolerating certain foods one day and then the next, NOPE

Anyone else have this problem?

Yesterday I was able to eat beef Jerky from this bag of jerky just fine. Today, well, it came back up. Did it somehow dry out too much overnight or something?

I do have this problem. I made pork tenderloin over the weekend, had leftovers for lunch Monday and had no problem then bam - last night it quickly gave me nausea and my sleeve kinda 'clamped down' and refused to take in more than several bites. Not sure what's going on, but no, you're not alone in this.

My doc said something about the microwave drying things out when something similar happened to me with chicken last week. Of course, that didn't explain the hour and a half of NOPE that day.

Oh good point. Maybe when I microwave meats I should add extra moisture and reduce the cooking power.

meat is a difficult thing. My stomach still won't accept steak or brisket or anything with texture or dense. I still can't do doughy bread either.

I'm an outlier so I really didn't have that issue, but I do want to reassure you that it gets better. Hang in there!!! Go with the flow. Don't rush to advance your diet. Go slow.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
