Stalls, calories, and staying on track

Recommended Posts

I have hit my longest stall so far. Six weeks, and I've really struggled this last week to stay on plan. Any suggestions to stay motivated and not lose my determination. This is such a battle of the mind.

I just don't want to fall into my old habits that I've worked so hard to overcome.

When I hit my stall I started looking for progress outside of the scale. I took my measurements, tried on clothes that had been tight, noticed that I had increased my walking speed on the treadmill, and I busied myself with meal and exercise plans for the coming weeks. They helped keep the frustration down. It had been my pattern to fall off my fitness plans when I reached a plateau so I’m determined to end that cycle now.

Ramp up your exercise routine if possible or change it to something different. Like if you normally just walk do some workout videos, get out and garden, mow your grass just to change it up some. Sounds like your body is in a routine and it is happy with it.
Just some thoughts!!
Good luck

Thank you ladies!

I've decided to do No Weigh May!

I've been working out and walking consistently since last August. I really don't want to be so consumed with the number on the scale. I think that is something I really need to work thru. I feel like I haven't weighed in years and it's been four days. May could be a long month!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
