Stomach, Endless Pit

Recommended Posts

I am 3 yrs out, RNY. I haven't ever had or have now any sense of restriction. I never get that full feeling. I mean, at dinner, I rarely eat all of it, something just says in my head, ok now, stop. I just don't know how it feels to be satiated. I admittedly have stuffed my face, and I feel full but I want to eat normally all the time. I feel like my stomach is an endless pit.

I eat small portions of the Wrong things. Graze. VERY BAD I know. I'm getting satisfaction from the sweets, etc but missing the proper satiety. Will I ever feel that? Dont be rude, but scold if you must. I need help.

Not usually. Maybe I do. I dont know. If I really look back, I might find that I eat slider type food. Bad. I'm reassessing my food right now while I'm stuck here at work. Pondering, analyzing, wondering.

Honestly. This is YOUR walk. You are having trouble, because you are unwilling to do the things you KNOW you must do in order to experience success.

You KNOW what you have to do. You MUST go back to your doctor and RD. Get a new plan. Follow the plan. The losses will be much slower. And you have to comply with it daily.

EVERY person I know who is long term successful in WLS still plans and logs their food, knows what macros it takes for them to lose and what macros it takes for them to maintain and knows which pattern of eating works to do both for them. They maintain a very tight window of maintenance.

You couldn't be more right. Thank you for your honesty.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
