First fill,what's normal?

Recommended Posts

Yes, there is no need for fluos unless there is a problem such as suspected twisted, flipped or leaking port or pain of some sort.

The fill as you get closer to restriction will feel cool around you stomach as the fill inflates the band. It is a 'cool' feeling and your first reaction is to eat cautiously for a week until you get used to your portions. I found I was PBing every day until I finally realized I couldn't tell what 3 oz was so now I weigh everything. Doddie

Hi Everyone my BMI is 38 I weight 230 and i'm 46 . I just had knee surgery And Dr said its not getting any better and that I have to lose weight and wait until I'm 55 to get my both knees replaced..I was thinking of this procedure and wondering if I'm an emotional eater will it be even harded to follow and is this one savee then getting your stomach stapled..thanks Karen from PEI

Hi Karen- No such thing as luck that I happened upon your post.

Most everyone that I kno that is overweight is an emotional eater. I actually didn't even need an emotion to overeat I just did it. The thing to keep in mind is the band is a tool. One tool. The next one is your diet, the diet is better controled because you aren't able to overeat (well you can but it isn't at all pleasant and you learn to just do something different). There is a JUMP FORUM on this site at the bottom of the page. Simply click on the arrow and drop the box open. You'll see loads of topics from Lap-Band related subjects. Search there and read. My best to you on your journey.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
