Hmmm... hadn't considered having to wear socks all the time post-op. My poor hobbit feet only tolerate socks begrudgingly when there is snow on the ground (okay, so that's still at least six months of the year here). I hope that maybe I'll miss this after-effect of surgery.

Love your quote in your signature: Fear is a Liar!!

It's normal to feel sad/unhappy/miserable with the aesthetical state of your body after WLS even as your health improves. You are not ungrateful for wanting your journey to be satisfying in many ways.

There aren't many of us here... glad to meet another bariatric patient from north of the 49th parallel.

As for the socks, I will adjust if I have to. But I won't like it. ;)

Another Canadian here! 🇨🇦

Yeah, being cold is annoying. But I have to say I prefer it over being so hot all the time. Before, the slightest exertion would result in me being a hot, sweating mess. Then I'd be all flustered about being sweaty and then end up sweating some more. *sigh*

So now socks are a fixture on my feet (I only see my feet now when I shower!), and I drink hot Water all day.

I want to say it has gotten slightly better, but it may just be because the weather is getting warmer. *shrugs*

I think it’s fairly common. Of the three people in my personal life that have had wls, including myself, have all had this happen

To lose slow and/or to have stalls ?!
Frustratingly , YES!!

Best advice given over and over but the hardest to implement : don’t compare yourselves with others. Those starting at a higher BMI lose quicker, sex, age or hormonal stage in life all play a role and it varies greatly from person to person.
I also read when we reach a previous set point in our weight our body was previously comfy at it will try to stay there. Lots of theories out there on what you should do. But if your surgery is new and your following your surgeons plan just keep on keepin’ on. (Imho)

:) It's the truth... I deal with a bit of anxiety and it's always helpful to me to remember.

Not a question but a fantastic visual on WHY we don’t drink before, during or after our meals.
Fast forward to about the 2:30 minute point if you don’t want to watch the whole thing

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
