Anyone else struggle with not being allowed to drink anything with meals? I’m only 2 weeks post op today but sometimes, I just need a sip of Water during my meal. I find it very difficult. Anyway, just wondered.

Yes, that part is hard for me. I have occasionally taken a sip but now that I am eating solid foods it is not a good idea....so I just wait it out.

@EspeciallyKK

don't feel alone - i think this is one of the most common problems many of us deal/dealt with

we all have to accept and learn to handle the situation. Don't have to like it/ but its one of the

BIG rules that must be followed. Very important!!

good luck

Perhaps its habit or your foods are too dry for you. Keep working at it. You can do it 👑

Yes! Sometimes after I eat I just need to get the taste of the food out of my mouth so I will take a small sip and swish it around.

Servers just look at me funny when I don’t want anything to drink. I just Ask for Water to make them feel better.

Ya it’s def a dry food issue sometimes. But also, the amount of chewing we have to do grosses me out. I know that’s dumb, lol. But I just need a sip! Lol.

You will get used to it eventually, but it is definitely unnatural.

‘I agree with the above, I always make sure I order or cook something that will be moist if possible. If absolutely necessary I do take a tiny sip if I’m done eating. I also rinse my mouth or brush my teeth after eating which can help.

Don't underestimate how much of it is habit/mental. I originally could never conceive of not drinking with meals, but it's normal for me now. Make sure you drink in your window before your meal so you're not actually thirsty.

      I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

      I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

        That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

      Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
