Cutting slack while ill

Recommended Posts

I'm full to the brim with cold and up at 2.15am UK time cos I can't sleep with temp, blocked nose, dry throat from mouth breathing, upset stomach and starving cos I've been up about 4 hours longer than I allowed for with food and drink.

Also feeling a tad sorry for myself...did you notice?

Carbs will be thru the roof as the idea of meat, fish or eggs is...well...offputting right now. Crackers all the way. But did do 2250ml Water by bedtime.

Guess I came here for.sympathy but also to say you should remind me of this if I start fretting about a stall :-)

Take care of yourself. Hope you feel better soon.[emoji855]
Thanks xxx Managed 2 hours sleep before the coughing started, but on the mega brightside I had already drunk 750mls by 5.30am

It's hard to eat healthy when you don't feel good. I've had a cold for the last 10 days and thought it was getting better and going away but now it's back and I'm taking cold medicine again. I've been tempted to comfort myself with some carbs, but I haven't yet and hope I can hold out. chocolate Protein Shakes are my "go to" splurge.

Thanks all - Better now, but made the silly mistake of weighing myself the day after I felt human again - 3 pounds off in 5 days. 2 of which I had regained by the Monday weigh in 🙂 Such a relief to realise it wasn't just me being lazy and out of shape as I initially thought when I was sickening for it.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
