Y’all, my pre op liquid diet starts in exactly 2 weeks! I am not nervous just really excited. I know it’s going to be hard but I was ready for surgery a month ago, lol.

I guess I am just happy to know change is coming!

So who is on April 4? I know there’s a ton of us. Anyone in the LA area? I’m nervous for my surgery even though I’ve had a sleeve so I’ve basically done this before.

I am April 4th. Sleeve to MGB revision. BariatricPalMX with Dr. Illan. Can’t say I am nervous. More anxious about leaving my one year old twins for a few days. I’ve never been away over night so it’s going to be hard on me as a mom. Needs to be done though.

I’m hoping for an early appointment , I will not find out until 2 days before surgery, so does that make 3 of us on the 9th?

I went back and looked also it is nice we have 4 on the same day and I will cross my fingers you can get in early!! Are you close to your hospital? I think having to wait for a time would be something to drive me nuts lol. Hard to plan if you don’t know a time. But pray you get early:)

I am only 20 min from the hospital and I am hoping for an early appointment because I am so nervous. I have never had surgery before so the actual anesthesia is scaring the daylights out of me. The after I’m really not worried about.

Oh my.. I wish I could say never had a surgery;) I’m glad you live close so you can get there and start to relax and hopefully be done with it before too much anxiety comes!

Hoping for an early surgery for you as well. I’ve had a few where I’ve been put under. You will be fine. Don’t let it scare you.

Where at in Toronto? One of my Surgeons is Canadian, so she has accreditation is I
u.S and Canada. i think it was St Thomas( or maybe St Joseph- there are so many saints, it boggles the mind!) Anyway I thi,k she is from on of the suburbs of Toronto, and one of her senior residents came from outside of Calgary. At any rate she is one smart cookie and I like Dr Noria a lot.
And April will be a lovely month to be having surgery and I do hope you are blessed with a wonderful surgery and smooth healing. Keep us updated on your journey.

Don’t stress about the anesthesia. Ask for Zofran or something which reduces post anesthesia nausea and vomiting. My body isn’t a huge fan of anesthesia. It sticks around for a long time and I’m a zombie even without additional pain meds.

I’ve probably had 6 major general anesthesia surgeries. You’ll be okay!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
