So I had my surgery on 12/29/18.. I have only lost 26 pounds..I feel frustrated when I read people have lost like 15 to 20 pounds more..at times I feel like my surgery didn't work...or maybe I am stretching my pouch...I feel hungry and constantly thinking about food...I feel depressed and think I will be like this forever...I dont know what to do...help..

  • I lost 16 lbs in the first month, and 12 in the second month. The biggest lesson I learned is to never compare yourself to others. We all lose at different rates for all different reasons - age, gender, starting BMI, metabolism rate, whether or not we lost a lot of weight pre-op, etc. Your commitment to your program will have MUCH more impact on your eventual success than your rate of weight loss will. I was a slow loser from the get-go, and I lost every last pound of my excess weight. I just kept my nose to the grindstone and followed all the rules..

My #1 takeaway from this community is this: Do. Not. Compare. Yourself. To. Others.
#2 Do not weigh every day.
26 lb loss so far is awesome so focus on that accomplishment. Best wishes on your continued journey.

You've lost 26 pounds in 6 weeks and you're frustrated? That's A LOT! Have you ever lost 26 pounds in 6 weeks before? You can't compare yourself to others who may have started at a higher weight or have a different body metabolism. Everybody loses differently. Just hang in there and let it do its thing over time.

DO NOT STRESS. Any weight loss is progress. We all lose at different rates. You are doing great!

did doe what Grady Cat said I know it's hard but there is so much factor between you and the world of sleever's. Look at where you want to be in one year and let your body heal on the path of healthy living.

Don't be so hard on yourself - that is still a great number! I am right around that, and I had my surgery about a week before you. So many different factors go into it, just focus on yourself. 26 lbs is amazing, keep up the great work!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
