Hi there

What is the new normal for bowel movement? I find my self going 7-9 days even while taking a softener and laxatives.

That's about the same for me.

Ouch... I thought my Constipation is bad!! I have been taking one dulcolax and two stool softeners a day and I go about every other day (and then it's either passing boulders or burning diarrhea for two hours). Either way it's a painful experience. I am drinking my Water, getting in my Fiber and it doesn't making a f---king bit of difference. Nevertheless, at least it's coming out once every 48 or so hours. I couldn't go once every seven to nine days!!!! That's awful!!! You really need to discuss that with your doctor and come up with a plan. You guys must have 8 pounds of poop in your system!!!

LOL, my old normal post surg = Rosemary's Baby bad deliveries once every 4-5 days. Holy crap! So bad.

Since adding lots and lots of psyllium fiber + daily "meds" + lots of veg + Water, I get big fluffy, painless, 1lb poops daily. It's my "NEW NORMAL" and I owe it all to my daily plan. I never deviate from it:

Miralax 17g in black decaff coffee
2 Colace stool softeners
11g Now Brand whole psyllium husks divided into 2 cups of room temp Cinnamon Apple Spice Tea (decaff)
1/2c Greek yogurt with live cultures
1 GG Brancrisp Fiber Cracker + 1 tbsp almond butter each night before bed
100+oz plain water, plain decaff coffee, plain decaff green tea, plain matcha

It is totes worth doing this! The psyllium husks and fiber cracker fluff up the poop and the Greek yogurt with cultures along with the psyllium is helping to repair my gut biome. The water is super duper important otherwise you make concrete.

I go at least once a day, sometimes twice a day. Everyone is different when it comes to this question.

You're blessed then. Perpetual irregularity is very unpleasant.

Thanks for the tips. I am going to add some of your protocol to my routine and see if things improve. :)

Cool! It's important to know, that I made sure to "clean myself out" before socking the psyllium and fiber crackers to it. :) Cuz otherwise I risked a blockage. And I also was trying to get as many Probiotics in as quickly as possible!

Good to know I'm not the only one with boulder poop every 4-7 days. I have a thyroid issue so it really causes Constipation and ontop of my surgery it's awful. Drink tons of Water and Miralax and colace work only when you drink enough. I have also started the Fiber nasty orange mix in powder into water it is a quick chug because it really is awful. Good luck just speak to your doctor for ideas.

My daughter-in-law has had Constipation problems for years. She has even had to go to the emergency room in the past. She is pregnant with her second child and her obstetrician just recommended good old milk of magnesia and she said it works wonders.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
