By the 4th week I was able to eat soft food, but even at 2 1/2 months grilled chicken gives me trouble. Moist rotisserie chicken is easier, dark mat is easier than white. Try fish, that is easier.

I needed to stick with ground meats for quite a while before I could tolerate "solid" meats

It could have been how fast you ate, but likely you're just not ready for that stage. A lot of people can't do grilled chicken until 6 months out. It's one of the last meats you should try.

Omg I tried chicken salad at 3 weeks and it was a nightmare . Had to walk for 90 minutes because I felt like it was stuck and I was suffocating . I am 4 weeks out and can only do like 2 oz of fish . Tried to put ham in a scrambled egg this am and that didn’t work . I think meats r just way far in the future . Stick with eggs , fish, cottage cheese and yogurt . I rely on at least one Protein Drink a day

So I am on my 4th week had surgery dec 29...I can't eat real food...only shakes, Jello, pudding and some soups... I tried a little grilled chicken and I feel like vomiting. Is this normal?

I'm sorry to hear of your difficulty. I would have thought chicken would be a safe bet. How does bacon work for you?

Yep yep. One of my first puke fests post op was thanks to some dry chicken that got stuck/wouldn’t go through my stoma. Also had it happen with a pork chop.

The good news is I’m six months post op and haven’t had that happen in at least 2 or 3 months. I also only eat really moist chicken and make sure I chew the heck out of it.

Omg 4 th week our I tried chicken salad - used thighs but still couldn’t eat it . Got stuck real bad . Stay away from all chicken and meat . I am on week 5 and have just been a been able to manage fish and poached eggs . Tried egg salad today with hard boiled egg and no go . So to answer your question , wanting to puke in chicken is totally normal

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!

      Today was rough...
I've been experiencing a headache all day today that just won't go away. I'm thinking it's now progressing into a migraine. Does anyone else get headaches from taking vitamin B12? I did some research and learned that usually a lack of B12 causes headaches. But I've noticed when I take it, I have reoccurring headaches. 😫
