I had my VSG on 11/19. I lost a good bit of weight for the first 4 weeks or so, but have basically been at the same weight for the last 2.5 weeks. I am eating about 1100 calories per day, getting in 64+ oz of Water and hitting my 80+ grams of Protein daily. I go to the gym 3 times a week.

I had mine on the 10th dec, i dropped a heap to start with to but then got stuck for a week or so, i added in walking and slowly started loseing again. Ive been told that you will have stalls every now and then....doesnt make you feel better though but walking more helped me. I hope your numbers start dropping again soon.

I had gastric bypass whereas you had the sleeve. I dropped weight so quickly that it was like jumping off a cliff. But then at around 7 months, my weight loss stopped and I went into the maintenance phase.

Sleeve patients lose weight at a much slower pace. They encounter many stalls along the way. But their journey is much longer. And they can achieve almost the same weight loss as gastric bypass patients. Many do not transition into the maintenance phase until 2 years.

Thank you James - really reassuring to hear that... I won't throw myself off a cliff just yet then! ;)

Stalls happen. Keep working your plan the stall will break. Here is an old thread below Embrace the stall

We all lose at different rates and weight loss slows as you get further out from surgery. Take advantage of this first golden year. It's your best weight loss period.

Look at weight loss over the longer term, vs. short term. By your stats, it looks like you have lost 40 lbs in about 6 weeks. That is tremendously successful and above average. Focus on total loss, divded by the number of weeks post up, vs. what was lost in a shorter time frame.

Which of these really matters?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
