❤ JANUARY 2019 CHALLENGE ❤

Recommended Posts

Jan. 30th:

Goals update- to use timers all month. This pretty much happened. Mostly mental timers as I chose to go more than 30/30 most of the time.

Once I had to drink then eat right after, couldn't be avoided but it was such a small amount that I was not worried. I don't enjoy breaking the rule but, real life...

Couldn't do all my Ramadan days but I made a good headways into them, so I'll say that's GOAL HALF MET

I originally was planning a goal of 250 by the end of January, that was before TPN entered my life, only have lost 3 pounds in a month. So I guess I shall amend my goal, think I will go to February and do a goal of 260, I'm at 267 so if I step up my exercising , even if it's DvDs and TV I might make it by February 28th. Can't cut back on foods, only getting 1 token meal a day but I still want to be with you all. So see you in February ones, okay?

#30 Goal Progress

-Get into onederland: accomplished! Been in the 190s since mid-month

-Find a therapist and go: accomplished! Have been twice, third appointment tomorrow. Can't say I feel any different, but I know it will be a long road.

-Pick a darn surgeon for my plastics: not reached yet. However, I have completed all my consults and I am in the process of choosing. Still hoping to have my surgeries in the spring.

-Start tracking and keep tracking: Kinda??? I do track more often, but it is still not where it should be. Putting in a solid effort at least!

Ok, I'm in!

SW: 287.4lbs

CW: 150.4lbs

GW #2: 140lbs

GW #3: 130lbs

10.5 months post op RNY

I'm at #1 goal weight, but I want to lose more!!! I want to see if I can destroy my thunder thighs once and for all!

Goals

Consume 60-74g or more Protein per day

Take all my Vitamins

Get in 100+ oz Fluid a day

Start logging faithfully

Start exercising again today! Walk 1hour 6 days per week, and add in strength training and core building exercises 3 days per week.

I too have grown complacent over the holidays and it shows. Even though my weight and waist size are stable and the same as they were pre-holiday, from looking at my pics, it looks like I'm "soft" and spongy? Like my tummy is bigger and my thighs look flabbier!! Grrrr!!! More thigh rub! Ok....I'm a do this thing!

(Sorry, I still have 1 MORE Christmas to Celebrate this weekend and presents left to be wrapped. It's the Christmas that never ends! *sigh*)

January 30th Goal Update:

CW: 148.4lbs

Incrementally going down--but still 4lbs up from my lowest weight this month. Grrrrrr! Drat you, Lex Luther!!

Staying within Calorie Goals (mostly)

Exercising as planned (needs improvement)

Keeping up with the challenge reporting reqs, needs BIG improvement! LOL. Sorry but I'm not a selfy/photojournal kinda girl. Mainly cuz it's labor intensive to send the files from my phone to desktop--then I feel compelled to correct the lighting and increase sharpness in PSD, then upload. Gah. Ain't nobody got time for those shenanigans. LOL.

I want to participate next month as much as possible. :)

TY so much to @GreenTealael for hostessing this challenge and for keeping us uplifted and engaged! This challenge really helped me refocus!!!! MUAH!

Late is better than never! I took the picture on the 1st so I can compare at the end of the year!

2) My January Goal is to get into the 180's, I'm currently 194.2 so I'm hoping for at least a 5 lbs loss this month.

3) 2019 goals is to hike a new and moderate to hard trail every week, so 52 total. Also to run a 5K. I use to run them before I gained all my weight back, so I want to smash my old times2089076108_20190102_2225592.thumb.jpeg.5da12755f0ab4aaac186ffbe1d41e1b4.jpeg 229294991_20190102_2226052.jpeg.a38795ec36fef56059ea12c047c0ba2b.jpeg

Jan. 30th - Goals update!

Well, my goal was to get into the # 180's, and I did it! Today I weighed in at # 183.4 lbs!! That's a loss of 10.8 pounds! Hopefully tomorrow I'll be down even more! And so far in January I have hiked a new hike every week! I'm glad I aimed small though because those 11 pounds were hard work! I'm excited for the February challenge to see how much I can shed before my trip to Hawaii in March! I am on week 4 of my C25K, and so excited for my first race in a few months.

This has been a great month and I'm so grateful for this challenge for keeping me on my toes and distracted. I've loved watching all of your journeys, and I can't wait to join you in the February challenge!

#30 - January Goals Update

GW: 135 - 131.2 on 1/30

11 months post op

Small caveat, my current weight is last time I weighed myself on 12/27. I won't get back to a scale until 1/4, and I'll try to remember to weigh in.

I'm at goal weight, so I don't necessarily want to lose more (unless I can choose where the weight comes from :P). The 135 was my recent post WLS low weight.

Goals

Consume 50 g or more Protein per day - Fail, I ate more Protein than previously, but most days got nowhere near 50g

Take all my Vitamins - Fail, I took more supplements than I was previously, but not daily

Get in 64 oz Fluid a day - Meh, hydrated more consistently then I had previously, I'm calling that a win

Start logging again - Yes! I actually did this EVERY DAY!

Well, I haven't met all my goals for this month. Primarily I wanted to break my evening snack habits. I'm better but not all the way there so I didn't lose as much as I wanted but I did break through another stall. I'm officially ending the month at 220lbs. That means I lost 15lbs this month and.....

I'VE OFFICIALLY LOST 101LBS!!!!!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
