Feeling too old for this procedure. Anybody out there 50+? Halla back.

Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app

I’m 52 and was sleeved in October. My only regret is I didn’t do it sooner!! Don’t listen to the naysayers!

I’m 51 and I know I can do this. I think a 70 year old can be successful if they really stick to the plan

I'm 53 and I just had gastric sleeve surgery a month ago. It's never too late to get healthy.

And never too late to be worthwhile, my song🎶 of life is different than many but it's pretty okay. I still can sing 🎤my melody at 73, it's pretty quiet if you're dead in a grave and I found out I don't want to be THERE yet. I woke up with arthritis. hurting but went and got my Carafate for ulcers, Ditropan for bladder spasms and Zofran to keep the nausea down, laid back down after a potty 🚽break, got 2 more hours until my TPN is done, I'll see if my leg pain gets better, if not, I'll pop a couple💊 Tylenol, save the Tramadol and Norco for something more serious. And start to sip my bottle🍶 of Propel, nobody mentioned I would be doing 2 oz☕ cups this far out, but it works out to 8oz per hour, and I'll make my 64 oz today, even if it is in small increments. Snowy snowy here, close to 5 inches, but I didn't plan on doing anything outside anyway. Weighed frolicking in the snow⛄ verses falling, breaking arms, legs, hips, better safe inside than sorrows in the ❄snowdrifts. My bones don't just bend and bruise, they go CRACK and then there is a long 😧healing ahead! No Thank You Very Much!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
