Not for a minute. OK, I did, for a few minutes post-op (does that count?) Other than that, no way, no how.

Only 2 months out but have not had any regret. I did tons of research beforehand though so I knew what I was getting myself into. I think it's unlikely you'll find people on these forums that regret the surgery (some have initial regret but get over it), I don't believe they stick around the forums long.

I am only four weeks post op and I would say I have fleeting moments of regret (like being stuck on purees during Thanksgiving) but from what I gather (and what I keep reminding myself of) is that the things that make me regret the surgery are temporary and in the grand scheme of things, a few weeks of adjustment are going to eventually be worth it.

The hardest part for me is that the most difficult post surgery time (the first few weeks) is also the same time your body is healing so you aren't losing as fast as you'd like. I see people who are 60-80 lbs down just five six months after surgery and I can't believe I could ever do that. In reality, my surgeon says I'm doing good and my weight loss will pick up at about the 6-8 week mark. (Don't get me wrong....I'm still losing. I've lost 12 lbs since October 29th). Long story short, I don't think my "regrets" are going to be anything long term. From what I understand the key is to mentally prepare yourself for the huge changes that you are about to make....something I wasn't very good at pre-op.

Thank goodness someone else is slow out of the gate. I was starting to wonder whether I'm a statistical outlier. I'm eating way less calories, meeting my Protein goals, and yet each lb lost is ever so hard to reach. [emoji24]

@ummyasmin according to my surgeon, the first 6-8 weeks our bodies are healing and not focusing on weight loss. He claims the weight loss should pick up after that. (It's still hard to accept when it seems like everyone else's bodies are ready to shed lbs immediately but I have to keep reminding myself that everyone has their own journey. I just have to keep pushing to the end of my own. )

Not at all. The first month is definitely the hardest. I would do it all again if I had to.

I echo the sentiments of some of the other posters. My only regret is not doing it sooner. I am 8 months post op. The first month was difficult, but it was worth it.

Looking at where I was a year ago and where I am today justifies my decision to have the surgery.

I really needed to see this. I'm 6 weeks out tomorrow and have only lost 24 pounds since surgery. The first 17 was in the first 2 weeks! I'm currently on my 2nd stall and barely averaging 2 pounds per week. I'm scared of what will happen after the honeymoon period when it gets harder to lose- it's already plenty hard to lose as it stands!!

We need to start a slow losers club. [emoji13]

Imma start upping my Water intake because @Matt_Z says we should.

And I'm also going to try being strict about three meals and no snacking.

I would say I'm going to start exercising but that's too big a hurdle for me yet (I hate anything that involves me getting changed into lycra)

Slow losers club here!! I'm at 16lbs and five weeks post op. It's still within the range of what's normal/expected for my starting weight of 243. It's hard not to compare to others, though. Has anyone lost pretty slowly but still reached goal?? I don't mind a slower pace...what I worry about is that losing little amounts will mean not losing much total, overall.

I’m also in the slow losers club and knowing I’m not the only one is making me feel a bit better. My surgery weight was 327. Being so big I thought I would lose pretty quickly and it first I did. I lost 26 lbs in 4 weeks - but I’ll be 7 weeks tomorrow and still at only 26 lbs down. I was thinking there was something wrong with me!! I’m eating approx 500 calories a day and going to the gym (treadmill only for now) 3 or 4 days a week. How is it possible I’m not losing weight?!?!

I'm hoping that losing slowly means my skin will have more chance to adjust. I'd also love to know if slow losers get to goal too.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
