...I am so excited!!!!!! I am overflowing with enthusiasm!!! Why - well today for the very first time since being banded on the 5th May 2007, I experienced restriction! Yipee!!!!! I now know what you lot have been experiencing at long last.

This morning I had the same Breakfast that I usually have, s small bowl of Tesco Suger Free Museli with a small amount of skimmed milk - Low and behold when I was 3 spoonfulls in I felt this feeling that I have never experienced before - something that told me physically to stop eating. I was having Breakfast with 2 colleagues in work and so I quickly excused my self and went to the bathroom and spit up some terrible slime. This soon subsided and I took great delighht in going back to the table and taking my bowl over to the bin and throwing out half a bowl of breakfast that yesterday I would have been horrified to waste and throw out - but then again I didn't need to as I have always been able to finish. The best thing that I felt was a feeling of fullness and satisfaction that acted as a deterant throughout the morning in work, even when clients arrived with Belgian chocolate and Tobelorone bars!

So then it was lunchtime and I had to take clients out for lunch. So I make my usual healthy choice of fish - cod on a bed of mushy peas today. Then it happens again, I am 2 bites in to the dinner and my body tells me again that it is time to stop eating! The sliming begins in earnest and at one point I nearly think I am going to PB all over the table in fronth of everyone and I only just make it to the bathrooms in the retaurant - so this is a slight drawback to the euphoric feelings that I am experiencing but only slight.

Anyway I just wanted to share this with you all as I hope it will motivate any of you who are not experiencing the feeling of restiriction at the moment or at all as was my experience up to now. I stayed away from contributing to this site in recent months as I was so disillusioned with my banding experience and did not want to influence anyone who was beginning their banding journey, but now I am happy to shout out all about this restriction I am experiencing. I really believe that if this restriction holds up that I will finally begin to loose the weight that I need to and become a healthy average weigh woman able to have children next year!!! I also have a huge motivation to fit in to a wedding dress early next year too so I'm off at the weekend to sign up again at the gym to help with the tone up I'll require with this great weight loss I'm anticipating!!! ha ha

I'd love to hear if there is anyone else out there who has experience this late felling of restriction, 7 months and 7ml in band later?

Well fellow bandsters I have hit my 6 month anniversary! I have NO regrets...well maybe just one.....why didnt I get banded sooner!!!!! Since my band I have lost 57 lbs. For this year I have lost a total of 70 lbs I had lost a little before I got banded. I have been stuck with no weight loss since October because I got too much fill and could not eat or drink so they took ALL the fill out of my band so there has been no weight loss...they did tell me to come back in a month to get filled again but we are going to be doing little fills. I was upset because I could get a lot of food down but I miss the restriction. I know that sounds crazy but its true...I like feeling my band doing its job. Even though I have no fill I cant eat too much bread or Pasta or rice. With a fill there is no way I could even eat one bite without PBing but now I can have a slice bread or a bread stick or even a slice of pizza!! Well I will be getting a fill...finally on Tuesday. I am ready to start loosing again.

Congrats TwinMommy.. It's been along time since I was on line. Great to see so much progress in everyone. I feel like I abandoned ship, but I have been out enjoying life and my kids. Not so much time to spent surfing the web. Glad everyone is still checking in.

Don't regret this at all, except the day I went to the Texas State Fair, no place for a LapBandster. I went the day after a fill, which was worse. But, made it through.

Life is great. I went to a family reunion 2 weekends ago and my family flipped. They knew nothing of any weightlose, so I shocked them all. I dont live near any of them, which made it that much better. I love shopping. I finally had to break down and get some clothes. Went from a (can't believe it) size 22 to a 16-14, depending on the brand. No more sweat pants here, jeans all the way....

Thanks everyone, for just being...

I just had my six month band anniversary the other day and I feel great. I am down 70+lbs and 5-6 sizes. I am constantly getting compliments on how great I look. This was the best decision I have ever made and I would do it a million times over. I still have 40-50 more lbs to go and it is getting harder to lose, but I know that I will get there and I can't wait. Congrats on everyones successes!

I'm having a tough time hitting my goal but I started at 305 and I'm currently ~ 205. 100 down. 25 to go. I'd like to be at 180. I've been bouncing from 199 - 205. I'm really pushing myself now. Hitting 199 and going back > 200 was depressing.

I just found this thread, passed my 6 month bandiversary in November. I can't BELIEVE I didn't do this sooner! I feel like an entirely new person! With the exception of hypertension, which has greatly improved but isn't fully resolved yet, ALL of my other comorbidities are GONE!!! No more aching back, no more aching knees, no more aching feet, no more snoring! I live in a very hilly area, and 6 months ago, I hated to walk anywhere. Every up hill stretch led to dizziness, being out of breath. Now most of the up hill stretches feel like flat ground!

Not everything has been rosey...there has been a lot of emotional work to do. Now that I don't have the option of eating all my emotions, I've had to do some really intense inside work, but it has all been worth it!

Well Fellow May Bandsters....so many of you are doing so well. Personally, I am having some difficulty. Since being banded I have lost approx. 30 lbs and cannot break the 220 mark. I admit that since my last banding, I was quite tight, but did not want to release the restriction. However, that choice may have hurt me more as I ate more soft carbs than Protein. Proteins would not go down at all. Reading how well all of you are doing is a needed "kick in the pants". I will check out the food link to see how the successful "losers" are eating and try to become a "loser" too.

Thanks again....I see I have work to do.

Iam very glad I have the band I love it! It does have a mind of its own thats for sure. I think I have found my sweet spot my last fill was about 4 weeks ago and I am still tight. I have to be ever so careful and some times cant eat any thing, just have a drink of milk.lol but hey thats ok too.

I some times dont think I am loosing fast enough but my weight loss team says iam doing great my average is 1 and a half too two lbs per week iam down 65 lbs since surgery in May of 07. From a size 24 too a size 14 and they are loose...........cool huh.

Well I would love to hear more from May 07 Bandsters and how they are doing.

I am so proud of all of you. You guys have done so well. I am only down 35 lbs. since my banding May 08, 2007. I feel like such a loser. I am really trying. Walking 1.5 miles a day. Protein first then vegs and still the weight is not coming off. I do have an appointment on March 4 for another fill, but I do have some restriction now so I don't know if he will give me a fill or not.

I have just started to come back and read some on lap band talk to get some motivation. So guys kick me in the butt.

Again you guys are doing great keep up the good work.

Hi all!

I am new to this forum. I am 6 months out - banded 5/24/07 - down 70 pounds and hitting a wall. I am looking for a group to join that give me inspiration, ideas, and sound advice when I have a question or ten. Both my husband and I are banded. I wouldn't have changed the experience for the world.

I am fearful of putting the weight back on. So here I am ....

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
