Ok, for the Protein, look for Proteins that have ONLY protein isolates, protein concentrates contain a lot more lactose than milk does, isolates have little to no lactose.

Muscle atrophy takes weeks to months, it's possible what you are seeing is visceral fat loss making it appear as if it's atrophy. Speaking from personal experience on this one, my muscles appear to have gotten weaker with my weight loss, however that's just not the case, I'm stronger from working out, there is just less fat in and around my muscle making them *appear* smaller.

Have you looked into other Vitamins? Or another nutritionist?

What surgery did you have?

And how's that Water intake? Water is so important to weight loss and healing it's not even funny how important it is!

I had a VSG and thank you I did just switch to Isosure isolate shake and it was much better! I am probably getting a little dehydrated so I’m going to focus on getting back to 60-80 ounces of water!

At five weeks I was plain yogurt and berries in the morning, chewable vitamins only or go to the patch. broth, cottage cheese, string cheese. Water, Water, water ! sleep, rest heal, don’t worry. Everything will be fine. I’m at 7 months, 149 lbs. down and feeling like a million dollars, riding a bike 10 miles every day. I had major hernia surgery at the same time as my bypass Bariatric surgery. I was a mess. You will be fine, get your stomach right and everything else will follow.

Thank you!

Take a moment at some point and see if you can figure out how fast fluids drain from your pouch/sleeve. Make sure you are totally empty and take a sip and wait to see if you can feel it, then increase the size of the sip and wait to see if you can feel it, you'll get to a point where you'll feel it sort of stick around. Once you get there, pay attention to how fast that feeling goes away. This way you can figure out how fast fluids drain, this helps because once you know how fast things drain, then you can drink more Fluid, more often and know how much you can and cannot put in before it starts to back up. It's helped me greatly with getting in my upwards of 128oz of Water.

128 ounces!!!!!

That's what everyone *SHOULD* be striving to hit. Current research shows that normal humans need between 90 and 110 oz of Water a day, just to meet minimum requirements. If you exercise, that number goes up. If you are trying to lose weight, that number goes up. Fat is water soluble, and your body needs water to process and remove the fat, so if you don't get enough to cover your normal day to day requirements, fat loss *WILL* suffer! It's a goal not a rule though, shoot for 128oz a day, because it really REALLY does help out a lot of functions and processes within the body.

Hi Everyone! This is my first post. I was doing great the first few weeks but now at week 5 I’m struggling. Premier Protein shakes were the only way I was getting enough Protein and now they’re upsetting my stomach. My nutritionist is basically useless. After week two they said Protein only for 4 days then veggies then advance as tolerated. I think I advanced too fast and everything feels out of whack. Can someone help me get a sense of what I should be eating at week 5? I cannot imagine how I’m going to consume 60grams of protein! I can already see muscle wasting ad I’ve only lost 25 pounds! And OMG the Vitamins are making me nauseous! 😫

If you feel out of sorts go back to the stage you had no problems with and advance slowly. One specific product troubling you, try a few others for a while. Please tell your team are struggling and need a plan. They will help you, that is their job. Your NUT must provide you with adequate info and help.

Safe Journey!

I was eating pretty much everything on my week 5 but very slowly and little portion.

I can't drink another Protein Shake.

These are my favorite protein foods:

2 eggs (12 g each) so that's 24g

Yogurt 13 g

Can of tuna 25 g

cup of pumpkin seeds 12 g

Try the Multivitamin gummies. I heard they work if you are having a hard time swallowing.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
