Nov 2018 Hydration Challenge

Struggling quite a bit over here. Even 64 oz of plain Water has been a reach for me. It's mostly a mental struggle. Pre surgery, I used to take in about 98 oz a day. I like to chug Water through. This sip sip sip thing annoys me. I always wind up getting distracted and not drinking for a couple hours here and there which really limits the amount of water I can take in. Tomorrow is going to be a long day though, so I'm going to start drinking early in the morning and set reminders on my phone! The more hours I am up, the more hours i have to drink lol

How far out from surgery are you?

I can't speak for everyone but by 6 months post op I could "chug" with the best of them.

Infused waters, water with enhancers for flavor and clearer teas count towards pure water count in this challenge also.

Hydration is the goal.

I would rather have everyone well hydrated by sustainable methods rather than struggle to drink plain water all day. Just add some plain water in too if you can handle it.

Only little over a month out and nowhere near being able to "chug".
Not a fan of water enhancers. I like plain water. I just forget to drink it constantly.
I'm doing good today though :)

I would like to be "drinking" more. But my doc kinda frowns on that! ;) LOL.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
