I’m , Confused and frustrated because I had my surgery 10/3/17 and according to my scale I only lost 8lbs supposedly I move my scale like 5 times and it changed 5 times I believe I should have lost more then that by more I barely intake much. Can my body be retaining Water ? Or can I be at a stall already? I don’t know what to do and my my two week appointment is 10/17/18 . Has this happen to anybody else ?

Greetings,

I had RNY on 9/6. When I went for my first post op visit I had GAINED 8lbs. I asked the surgeon if he did a sham surgery! A week later I was down 15 lbs and have never looked back. Get in your fluids, Protein, and Vitamins and good things will happen. Best of luck.

I stalled week 2. Dropped 3 pounds in past 3 days, start of week 3. It'll happen. Just keep on your plan and it will begin.

You will retain Water from surgery and your swollen. Give yourself time to heal up and stick to your program. The weight will come off. Don't let the scale get you frustrated. Happy healing and enjoy the journey!!!

So happy to see this post because I am a week after my operation and I only lost 2lbs... I guess that is the weight of the stomach that was removed and I was so sad I started crying... but it’s good to see it’s normal and it will be fixed soon

I'm having surgery in 2.5 weeks and I don't plan on stepping on the scale for at least 8 weeks. You'll just mess with your head.

I'm three weeks post and haven't stepped on the scale yet. I can tell I've lost some by the way my clothes hang. I don't plan on seeing what I weight until I follow up with my doctor.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
