Thanks for that information but i was looking at it and if you have to drink 2 shakes a day for 30 days thats 60 premixed bottles and that to me sounds like its gonna be pricey vs buying the big thing of whey Protein Powder
The big tubs are typically around 21 servings. You need to check the servings on the tubs you buy. I spent 50 bucks for 60 Atkins shakes at Walmart. You'll probably spend more on most powders for 60 servings.

For example, I just bought what I thought was a large tub of rice Protein for 30$ and it's only 15 servings.

November 28th Bypass surgery date. I was diagnosed with Chronic Celiac Sprue Disease after my EGD. So, I'm learning to eat 100% Gluten Free and think having the Bypass will help. I've started drinking the Premier Protein shakes and like them very much. I've also begun making Bone Broth for my health, an acquired taste, but homemade is sooooo much better. I never thought that I'd do anything THIS DRASTIC, but..... the weight ain't comin off. 57 yo and want to Celebrate a Sexy 60 in 3 years... or a GREAT 58, a FINE 59 would be awesome! Want to connect and watch the success of others on here.

Btw, how do you get the cute chart thingy to show your weight loss and surgery date countdown?

Hiya Loos N it, never worry that you're the oldest on Bariatric Pal. I am 72 and far from thru! On September 5th I had my RNY bypass, started out healing fine, I st week stellar, 2 week I had a small blood vessel under skin broke and turned my entire stomach wall purple. Now I am 7 weeks out today, and have hit a bump in my road. Not a complete roadblock, I have a stoma stricture, can happen but not that frequently. It means I am still on a liquid diet. Friday I undergo a second EDJ, see we n9 l9bge4 can have a EGD, our duodenum is no longer, so what we really have is a. Esophageal- gastric- Jejunem endoscopy. Dr Noria my surgeon's partner does endoscopy for the practice. In the words of Duck Dynasty, endoscopy is her "bang zone"! While I am sleeping a peaceful medical slumber, she will go down and attempt for the second time to stretch the opening between my small gastric pouch and the second stage of my small intestine, the,Jejunem. Last time she discovered I have 5 new ulcers,2 within the pouch and the other 3 on the intestinal wall. So I have been on Carafate, an ulcer medicine every 6 hours, having been taking it,6am-noon-6pm- Midnight. This is on top of my other medicines. But I am following her orders. Have a feeling I will be doing this every 2 weeks into infinity. Oh but really I do wish not! But I am still glad for the surgery, I have lost a little more than 50 pounds since the end of July. No plain diet ever, did that forme and I have, heard of & done so many. Everybody wants an easy way out, losing weight is not easy. Worth it? Oh yes, I would never turn back to what i was, the future looks so much better.

Go up by your username in the righthand corner and click "create" and then "ticker". You can make a few different kinds... weight lost... days to surgery... that sort of thing.

HI all, this is my first post ever. I have surgery scheduled for November 2. Still getting all my pre-op stuff done. I'm not nervous, just anxious because I hate waiting. I am self pay and have about 85 pounds to lose. I am the healthiest fat person there is and my BMI isn't quite there, so insurance won't pay. For what I have spent on diets the last 30 years, I probably could have paid for this surgery three times over. I CAN'T WAIT to get it done.

Looking forward to the journey. Nice to meet all of you.

Maria

Hello, my surgery date 11/5/2018! I’m so excited! Tomorrow I start my pre-op diet... I’m so sick of yo-yo dieting, it really has taken a toll on my health. I’m looking forward to moving again without knee and ankle pain. I want to run again! So, I believe this Wls tool will work for me.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
