BRYCE86 got a reaction from 2019CD in Clear liquids.....I hate brothMy doctor told me broth and water of my choice would be first meal after surgery.
I said of choice. He joked and said Dasani, Tap, or Aquafina and then beef, chicken, or vegetable broth.
It made me laugh. But also scared of the fate that awaits me... lol
Reading about the products people love and hate though reminded me of that.
And also the fact that I too am picky.
I’ll have the Mac and cheese and the Dr Pepper when I wake up please.
Haha just kidding. -
BRYCE86 got a reaction from FluffyChix in Can I have zevia sugar free soda?Thank you. I just ordered the last one on there cause it said no sugar alcohols. And saw they had orange breath mints too. That were the same. That I’m gonna get for my apron at work. Cause I always worry about my breath. Thank you so much. This sounds like a great fit. Fixes a craving why staying on track. They also have a ginger ale one I found. With actual ginger extract. So it might help the stomach. Without the soda and sugar. Thank you. I can’t say that enough. -
BRYCE86 reacted to GreenTealael in Can I have zevia sugar free soda?No post op packet (that I know of) is going to say enjoy carbonated beverages. There are standards that are decided across the board and that is one of them. Ask your team for the real reason why carbonation is out for a better understanding and you can decide how to move forward.
There is a stevia or natural another sugar substitute that is root beer flavored. You can add it to plain water.
Safe Journey ?

BRYCE86 reacted to FluffyChix in Can I have zevia sugar free soda?Dude.
You. MUST. Rein in. Your Desire. And get right with the Lord.
You JUST posted about wanting to hurl after any time you eat/drink. Right now is NOT the time to give into cravings.
So what if you "want something different than water". Right now? Don't jack with yourself. Just find one source of liquids that works for you. If it's water and unsweetened decaff iced tea? Done!!! DONE!!!!
The reason I say this? Cuz you will have a LIFETIME to have variety. Right now in the early days? It's not about satisfying an itch or urge. It's about doing the smallest thing to get the job done. We don't have to like it. We just have to power through this time, heal, and do the right things. I SWEAR that this time will pass so damn quickly. Before too long you'll look back and say, "Wow! That sucked! But it's over and now I wish drinking this danged ol' flat sf root beer didn't taste so good! I'm drinking a meeeeelion of these a day! Wish they still made me dump!"
Don't squander this time. The motto I lived by:

BRYCE86 reacted to Frustr8 in Throwing up...This is your Auntie Frustr8 in Ohio, does your Doctor know this? My radar says Endoscopy time but I'm not a Grays Anatomy star let alone the Good Doctor, both lovely shows on ABC. -
BRYCE86 got a reaction from GreenTealael in Can I have zevia sugar free soda? Also - please don’t guess on this. I’ve looked in my paperwork and didn’t see a solid answer. So if someone has this info in one of their packets and can share or something. I’d appreciate it. -
BRYCE86 got a reaction from GreenTealael in Can I have zevia sugar free soda? Can I have zevia sugar free root beer soda, if I let the carbonation go flat? As far as I can tell there is no sugar or bad substitutes that would be harmful.
Unlike some of the ice creams I’ve seen suggested it doesn’t have sugar alcohols in it that I can see anyways.
I was told to watch their intake with gastric bypass by my surgery team.
I know carbonation is bad.
So do any of you drink sugar free drinks like Coke Zero or zevia once in awhile - as long as it goes flat or at least sits a bit to lose some carbonation. I miss the taste of the stuff and the bubbles too. But I’d settle for a few sips as a treat. Just don’t want to hurt myself or
Stretch pouch. -

BRYCE86 reacted to Ronnie158 in Orlando/winter Garden Fl support groupsHi folks, I am in the Ocoee, Winter Garden area but I’m just in the research phase, really. I’m registered for that seminar with ORMC Bariatric this coming Thursday, but I haven’t received anything saying where the seminar is held. Could you tell me where that is? ORMC is huge!
I’m interested in the sleeve surgery. Thanks. -

BRYCE86 reacted to Lynnlovesthebeach in Post op dietSince we are on the same plan, I know you should be on full liquids. Also includes yogurt, applesauce, cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, pureed fruits and veggies, sugar free pudding and gelatin. Our guide also says to work your way from 3 to 5 ounces in one sitting. Hope this helps. Congratulations on your surgery!

BRYCE86 got a reaction from GreenTealael in MoviesWhat are you watching right now? Or waiting to see at the theaters?
What do you normally snack on at the movies, or drink after surgery?
-
BRYCE86 got a reaction from Ed_NW in Movie Theater?Yes will do. I’ll get one of those plastic resizable reuseable ones that people think hide easier to make myself feel like I’m getting away with something super cool. -
BRYCE86 reacted to GreenTealael in Movie Theater?Probably but I'm a pro at it now so I know how to bring my food in undetected.
-
BRYCE86 reacted to MargoCL in Movie Theater?I bring nuts, pickles, always my own water /drink), have brought pork rinds too.
My BF and I always bring our own snacks and drinks -
BRYCE86 reacted to Ed_NW in Movie Theater?Put some protein water in a flask to make it more exciting.
-
BRYCE86 reacted to GreenTealael in Movie Theater?I can't think of anything to order off a regular theater menu that won't derail my plan so I bring my own stuff
There are some fancy dine-in theaters with full restaurant menus and that makes ordering easier.

BRYCE86 reacted to Lynnlovesthebeach in Orlando/winter Garden Fl support groupsThe ORMC Bariatric Practice has a support group on the third Tuesday of every month at 6 pm in the same place where you went to your initial seminar. Good luck with your surgery tomorrow. Today is my first day to start soft foods. So far, not interested in anything!
