I’ve stalled. I lost 18 lbs the first week and almost nothing this week. I don’t get it.

I am able to get liquids down pretty easily. I thought, "too easy." As long as I am not chugging back a bottle of Water, I do not have an issue with liquids. The issue that I am having 11 days post-op is nausea and food aversion. I can drink a Protein Shake, but it makes me a little ill to my stomach. I start to feel more nauseous as the day goes on. I am not sure how to pinpoint the exact issue: I do not think it's dehydration, I feel icky long after I take the Vitamins (Flinstones with Iron could be the culprit), and I am able to get the Protein shake down. . . I feel it's almost a mental game. Now, I do take a medication called Trintellix that is pretty well known to cause stomach upset. I am on the dosage prior to surgery, so that may be causing an issue in my smaller stomach. I have generic Zofran, which keeps me just feeling "icky" about the food I'm eating right now.

It also could be that my body is just done with all liquids, all the time - I don't get progressed until the 27th of this month! :(

Has anything changed in your diet recently? Are you having regular bowel movements?

Omg I wouldn’t call this easy . Hoping post surgery day 5 let’s me at least drink a little . I am still on Clear Liquids and managed to get some diet Jello down . Otherwise it’s Water and broth and a little Isopure tropical fruit punch . Honestly my friend who did this said do not push to eat anything or move too quickly from phase to phase . She said the quickest weight loss is in the first 30 days , then a bit slower 30-60 days , then it really really slows down .

They say that there are lots of stalls as the body accumulates Water , then releases the fat with the water , sometimes even gains before losses . Don’t get discouraged !

Hi everyone! I had my sleeve procedure on the 13th. The pain hasn't been too bad and after I went to my first post op appointment i started having some pain under my left boob that hurts when I breathe deep. I have an incision very close to the area and I also feel it in my left shoulder. I don't have any fever or rapid heart beat or nausea. I thought it was gas but it has lasted for about 3 days now. It isn't terrible pain but it is noticable. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice?

No unfortunately I have had 2 since my surgery on the 11th. I just added egg salad but I’m still way under 500 calories a day

I’m 8 Months out and eating for me is a daily struggle if I didn’t have to eat to survive I wouldn’t.

I like your recipe also, even more simple than mine and I am an Eggplant fancier myself. May try to grow some this summer when the soil warms up. Did you know eggplant are only temprature tolerant down to 45 degrees F?

Spaghetti Squash pretty awesome also

Hi all! I'm 3 days post op. In a way I thought I knew what to expect, and I guess, all things considered, I am right on track with recovery. First 2 days the gas pain was awful. Today eating 3 oz of Soup was catastrophic but the one thing that is bothering the most is the fact that I am allergic to adhesive tape and stwe I

strips were used over each incision. We discussed it prior but they said there weren't any other options. Anyhoo, it is burning my skin. I won't share the horror of a photo lol. If not for that i wouldn't even need pain pills.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
