Today is my first day back home following my surgery on December 12th. So far so good but I have a lot of stomach gurgling and still plenty of gas. Also I think my meds are breaking my face 😒

I am post-op day 5 from VSG and still can’t get anywhere close to 64 oz. It takes me about 50 mins to drink 4 ounces. Not sure how in the world I will be able to advance to full liquids in 2days.

I hear you!! I’m on day 6th. Got home the same day you had your surgery, I still have crazy gurgling and gas. I’ve been moving around a lot and that helps. I came of the meds on the 13th as all i wanted to do was sleep. I walked a mile today and gas levels are certainly better with walking. Good luck and speedy recovery.

I am currently laying in a bed in Mexico awaiting surgery tomorrow. Pre-op diet hasn’t been all that fun, but I’m down 58 pounds in six weeks. Looking forward to the future of not being hungry all the time.

Great work on the pre op diet. They are impressive numbers. Best of luck

I've had multiple abdominal surgeries for endometriosis and had little gas. Wonder how this surgery will be? I'm expecting it to be a breeze because the other ones I've had were horribly painful!

I've also had Laperscopic surgeries for endometriosis as well as a hysterectomy and I can say this surgery is a little different a bit more gas and painful

December 18th, and I cannot wait! I had my Lap Band removed on Aug 28th and waiting to heal before sleeve surgery (and hoping I don't gain too much weight while waiting!)
@Jendkopp, I'm curious why you waited to have the sleeve instead of combining the Lapband removal into one surgery? I had both procedures done on 12/11 and I do not envy you having the 2 separate surgeries.

How does anyone else prevent gulping? I get so thirsty then I remember and it’s too late and already hurts. I have no clue how this will work when I start working out.

Not really doing too well. Whether I drink or don't drink I have intermittent chest pain that feels like someone is squeezing me right in the middle of my chest. I talked to my doctor's NP this morning and her suggestion was that I take my Percocets. I've been avoiding them since I wasn't having constant unbearable pain. I feel like my pain is being dismissed and I have a bunch of errands to run before I graduate on Wednesday so I can't even take the Percocet 😑. Here's to hoping things get easier

I was having that same thing early on. I took antacids and it went away. Likely gas. Hope ya feel better.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
