Thought I posted a few days ago. Don’t see it, so here’s a re-post.

Started liquid diet on Sept 27 (Optifast 900), for surgery on Oct 18.

@snaver I have been waiting for you!! Finally I have a surgery twin :) hope pre-op is going well for you!

I messed up. Took a couple bites of homemade chicken taquitos that I made for my boys... is this going to make me sick?? I already don't feel so great.

I think if it didn’t make you sick within the first hour you’ll be ok.. I can’t imagine how hard it must be being around other people eating all the time. I live alone so don’t have that issue.

Side note: anyone else who was sleeved and has steri strips seriously ITCHY??? I am trying so hard not to scratch but it’s become distracting!! Could it be an allergy or am I just healing?

Thanks all!

YES!! Sort of. I don't think I have steri-strips. I have some kind of purple glue over the incisions. But it is itching (or the incisions themselves are?) so much. I know wounds itch at a certain point in the healing process, and I'm hoping that point is very short-lived, because it's driving me batty.

It could, it could, I am recovering from an inch of rAW banana. Oh that won't hurt anything. Wanna bet? My chest gets hurting and at my age that is not a GOODb sign. And I puked and puked a while more. All from,an amount i Imight have fed a baby with.
See that's where smart people can excel, I cant get any.

Thanks all!
I have steri strips, the band aids came off tonight as they were irritating my skin but left the big incision one on till after shower in morning. My strips are itchy tho and have to wait till they fall off!! I think you are just healing.

Packing my hospital bag! Surgery on Saturday! I am nervous and excited and trying not to think about it too much because I know I will freak myself out so just trying to be as positive and prepared as possible right now.

I took off the band aids and it’s much less itchy! I feel like I need to have the steri strips covered though, just in case? Maybe I can leave them for a day or so at least.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
