October 2018 Sleevers

Recommended Posts

Hi there, wow what a weekend 😃 went in on Friday down 20lbs, went up 2lbs after surgery, and down 2 when I was let out! Had to have my gallbladder out due to stones and I certainly didnt want to go back for another hospital stay. Pain on incisions and pain in my back due to horrible hospital bed and a bit of nausea. Im so very thankfully for that as I was expecting horrendus gas pain but all I got was lots of burping!

The main bit now is getting liquids in and thats all Im doing for the next few days. I get weak pretty quickly but ive had chicken Soup and a coffee and not had any issues with them so thats a good thing. Im off for a small yogurt smoothie with some protien in it.

Good Luck to everyone going today, I wish you all well 😃

Go in tomorrow first thing in the morning. Some words of assurance on the surgery itself would be nice. I've never had any kind of anesthesia, so I'm more worried about that than anything. Anyone else freak out about that? Words of encouragement on that would be nice. Do you just knod off or is it instant?

@bigcurt you just fall asleep and wake up later not remembering falling asleep lol don’t worry you’ll do fine!!

Just make sure you walk after once you feel comfortable to help with the gas pain. It’s really not so bad :)

For me, it has always been pretty instant. They tell you to count backwards and you're like 10.... then the next thing you know you're in the recovery room waking up and it feels like no time has passed at all.

Hi October 2nd people! Have you tried to introduce Soup yet?
Yes, I have been eating Soup since day 4 post op. Strained and watered down. I can only take a few bites before I'm full but I haven't had any problems with it going down.

I'm pretty tired today. But I'm sure it's a combination of the only thing that taste good is ice cold Water and I returned to work today. I did go home on my lunch break for a nap. Thankfully I live them mins from work.

I haven't gone back to work yet (still have this dang drain in) and I feel like I have no energy.
I'm thinking it may be a combination of the lack of calories and just from being stuck inside with little human contact. Even before surgery, I tended to deplete fast when I have no social interactions. I went on walk earlier and a loop around town that I used to do easily felt like a 8 mile hike today.

Wow. When was your surgery? How long do you have to keep the drain?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
