Paranoid as hell!

Ok guys chances are I’m just letting my first stall get the better of me but I’m gonna ask a few questions please feel free to comment on any or all. I was sleeved on 8/20. I lost 24 pounds pre-op. I didn’t gain during two day stay in hospital and immediately lost 10 more the first 5 days after surgery. So that’s 35 total pounds lost. Here’s the problem. I stopped losing weight just 5 days after. For three days now I’ve been at the same weight. I NEVER hear about a first week stall so I’m worried.

1. Is it heard of to stall first week?

2. I’m 7 days post op and can already consume more than 64 ounces (which I was told to work toward) by late afternoon. Is that normal to be able to take in that much so soon. It happened gradually but I’m just scared I’ve already stretched my sleeeve. Which is probably nonsense.

3. Finally, pain. Aside from the nagging faint pain of the big incision I have, is it normal to have rolling pains occasionally from my stomach. Not abs, pretty sure this is stomach.

4. Also, what’s up with all this flatulence. When will I stop farting so much?

Thanks.

Let your body heal. Your belly is healing and your body is holding air from surgery. From what I've read liquids can't stretch your belly because they just pass through. flatulence is good, it's going to help relieve the gas pains in your belly. Call your surgeon and voice your concerns with them. I'm only repeating what I learned from others here. Either way Congrats on your surgery and best of luck to you sir!!!!

I can attest to the stall. There is a thing called the 3 week stall. But it is different for everyone. I would not have believed this if it had not happened to me. I went 21/22 days eating about 600 - 800 calories a day and did not loose one single pound. Not one. So, don't worry too much about the speed that you loose. We are all different and as long as you are following the rules. It will happen.

I had my surgery 8/13/18. I had the same concerns. My scale did not change for DAYS and that was my first week home too. It’s slowly starting to move again. Don’t forget the shock done to your body. It has to catch up with what’s going on. I was also able to consume quite a bit of liquids as well. You’ve got this. Don’t let yourself get discouraged!

great questions; all have crossed my mind ( except the passing gas part I question why I haven't passed much) .

I'm only 4 day post op, only weighed myself once, of course wasn't thrilled and had to remind myself why i never weigh because of the mind games it plays on me. I've decided to follow the doctors meal plan and only weigh when i go to follow up visits. our bodies just went through a surgery and is all whacked out. we have to give ourselves time to heal and figure out our groove. I'm taking advantage of my down time to heal and relax before I'm to run out the gates.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
