Going for try #2 after the surgeon saving my life once already

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone! new to this group! I was chugging down the path toward Gastric Sleeve surgery and had my date back in August of 2016. Went in for my pre-op testing and my surgeon caught that I was anemic and low red-blood cell count. Surgeon said they had to figure out what was going on before they went in, so they found a spot for a colonoscopy and endoscopy the DAY BEFORE my WLS surgery date to find out what was going on. Low and behold, the colonoscopy found stage 3 colon cancer!!! So, my surgeon changed the surgery from a Gastric Sleeve to a colonectomy! Now, after 6-months of chemo, and 18 months of clear scans, i'm back to finish the job. Very thankful for my surgeon. Unfortunately my new insurance is requiring me to complete another 6-month weight monitoring, so the date will probably be Februaryish of next year. Can't wait.

Glad that your surgeon found what was wrong and you are ok now. The 6 months will go by fast. I wish you the best

Congrats on getting through that. I guess those of us that complained about having to go through the testing should read you experience and appreciate that it was done. Best of luck to you on your continued journey!!!!!!

How can a bowel movement make me lose almost 4 pounds? How much poo am I full of?

I haven't pooped in a weed and I'd love a 4 pound poo right now lol

Lol, yeah, I've been known to drop 3-ish lbs after a good (and long awaited) poop.

.....or even after a moderate to severe dumping episode. yikes.

Those are championship cups for both you guys! :) I personally came up a 1.4lb winner this morning. ;) hehehehe.
