4 Months 9 days Post Op Side by Side

Recommended Posts

I am not one to go on Social media and post these type of pictures, as I hate calling attention to myself and I cant stand looking at my pre op self.

With that said I figured this was the best place to do it since we are all on similar paths and it might motivate someone who is on the fence about this decision... It is not easy changing the way you eat or live but dammit its worth it, this process is hard and slow but happens at a blink of an eye keep grinding away and those small victories will add up to your end goal...

Picture was taken March 9th

Surgery was April 4th

New picture was take August 9th

Just burst my melanin-challenged bubble, why don't ya! I might just have to go to the spray-tan place and buy one just to show you!

Congratulations! You look great. I'm just under 2 weeks post-op and this is really helpful, as I feel like while none of this is hard, none of it is particularly pleasant either. A bit like putting my life from a cruise in 4th gear abruptly into first gear. Learning to sip, taking things slow, etc. can be difficult, but I know it's worth it!

You could introduce yourself in the General area and/or in the thread with they type of surgery you had but that may only target others with similar surgeries. Best of luck to you on your November surgery and a BIG Welcome to the site @PALOMABELLA

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
