I'm 4 months out. I'm having issues watching what I eat to lose some weight. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I had to freeze my gym membership for arthritis flare up in my knee and I feel I've gone backwards. I can start the gym again in about 10 days. Until then I need to try to do something. The depression is setting in because I feel horrible with how I let myself go and how I look.

You don't need to go to the gym to work up a sweat! Look for chair exercises on youtube. You can do a lot of core, upper-body and even some leg exercises without putting any weight on your knee. Good luck!

Hey there, I feel your pain, I too had to take break from the gym for medical reasons and going back was tough like starting over, but it had to be done (although I got a promo deal so i couldn't freeze my membership)

What are you eating these days?

I'm not motivated with eating. I found some at home fitness thing on Amazon prime that I'm starting tomorrow to get me started to go back to the gym. I want to make sure I'm strong enough to start Barre class again. I know once I'm back at my gym schedule, the eating will get better because I'll be more motivated.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
