I just got my surgery date and I want to make some August surgery friends so we can share our ups and downs in the weight loss journey.

I'm August 9th. Getting nervous, but mostly for the actual procedure because I've never had surgery or stayed in the hospital before

Hi everyone! This is my first post on this forum. I'm scheduled for a sleeve on August 16. My doctor doesn't require a specific pre-op diet, they just recommended losing some weight (and not gaining over starting weight) over the course of the 6-month doctor-supervised diet plan. I'm happy to be here, and finally taking my health seriously

Welcome, I am on the 14th ,VSG and no pre op diet. You have plenty of ppl on the same journey here.

Don't worry. Since the stomach anatomy is changed by the procedure it's helpful for medical staff to know this if something were to happen and you were unable to speak for yourself. It also alerts them to meds you should avoid.

So my gastric sleeve is scheduled for August 1st. my husband and I are driving to Texas the day before and surgery is in the very early morning. I am getting very nervous. I only been doing a 7 week pre op diet because the first week of preop I was bad girl. I thought it would be my last time eating my favorite foods and I ended up gaining 4 pounds. But wls is not the end of the road for eating your favorite foods. I figured that out on my own and I began my preop late but the big thing I started it and I lost a little weight. The most important thing is making sure my liver has been shrinking and with the little weight loss, I am sure it has shrunk. it does not take long for that.

I know you are nervous, as I am, it is going to be a great journey, youre going to get your life back. We got this chica!!!
How has your pre op diet been going? As you previously read, my sucked but I hoped back on the band wagon and my surgery is on 3 days omg!!

Hey!! I am scheduled for Monday, August 6th. I am super nervous! I guess mostly that I won't loose any weight after this surgery.

And yesterday we had two couples @Brenda1723 and@afakasiwife. I think that would really be a very nice thing, to start out together on a post-surgical path!?

I might be late but I just wanted to say good luck to everyone who is having surgery today! When ever you feel up to it keep us updated, we would all love to know what’s to come.

Just got to the hospital. I’m super nervous. Other than the excess weight I’m pretty healthy so I’m low risk for complications but still nervous.

U will do great, I had mine yesterday morning. Only pain I have is where the drain was left so any type of fluids will drain out. I had the X-ray which had to drink the barium it was nasty but thing were all good to start my liquids!
