Not tolerating chewable vitamins

Recommended Posts

Please correct me if I am incorrect but aren't Children's Vitamins deficient in Iron and some other minerals? Is an iron capsule or tablet sufficent suplementation or do you have to go on iron shots. I had to have those when I was 8 months pregnant and my iron levels were bordering anemia. Even with Z--track those boogers HURT! FYI when my son was born he had high bilirubin levels, spent the first week of extrauterine life under bilirubin lights, just missed having an exchange transfusion. At that time OSU's criteria was above 20, my baby boy had 19.5. Yes folks the very same hospital I will have my Bariatric Surgery at, come September, now you can see why they gave me no 😱 fear, for me it was like "Coming Home" after a long journey away. If it is possible to 💘 love an megapopulous sized medical campus, I have had only GOOD treatment at their hands.

Updating because I said I would.
Just had my 6 month labs drawn and everything is still in the "normal" range. My D is back up thanks to additional supplementation, a few other minimal changes, but nothing more than a few points up or down. Interpret that as you wish.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
