Still chugging along in my little choo choo 🚂toward surgery. Nothing is going to derail me , I have invested all of August in this miserable Verdompt diet, I am going see it through to the finish. I have a PCP appointment on the 29th, let's see how much weight I've lost, got to be some after all. According to Rick M I have a BMR of 2033, if I'm only taking in 1000 calories daily, some fat has got to be going away. I Hope I Hope So! But like ancient Rome there is still enough of me to be divided in 3 parts.😪

Cammee,
I hope you're doing well after your surgery!!
Thank you. Doing well. It was a month today. 19 pounds down. But haven't lost anything in 2weeks. I guess I'm at a stall. But i wish this stall pass on I'm ready to see more results. It's depressing to not see any movement but I'm glad i haven't gained either

My surgery was 8/2. My total weight loss is 25 pounds. When I went in for my 2 week post op appointment, they said not to expect any more losses in the next 2 weeks, but that my body will adjust to what's happening and it'll go down after that. She couldn't really explain much beyond that, but she said it happens more often than not. I'm going to hold her to that. ;)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
