Is this normal? Happened to anyone else??

I agree that Wheetsin is on the money with it being 2 different issues.

The other thing that comes to mind is how you treat the days that you feel too tight. Do you stop the food, and go to liquids? Do they seem to center around your menstrual cycle, or days of high stress?

I know when I was tighter restricted, if I ate something that required more work for me to pass through---say raw carrots---I would swell, and although they did not make me PB---it made my stomach react, and I would find it hard to eat much of anything then for awhile.

I think I would try going back to liquids for a few days, then if you have anything similar to a PB do not eat following it for at least a few hours, give your stomach a chance to really settle.

Some have said they found drinking Aloe Vera juice really helped their sensitive stomachs---I have never tried it.

Does your Dr. have any questions for you, or suggestions when he is doing these fills/unfills? Does he mention possible things you could try?

I think a slow approach to fills is a safe way to get to proper restriction too. Yes you could have accomplished this maybe with WW, but you ARE learning new eating habits, while slowly but surely sneaking up on good restriction.

I have only had 2 fills at this point.

I am having surgery Friday, and if I don't get results from it, I plan on scheduling another fill finally, but it will be a teensy tiny one! I do not want to have to be unfilled!

Good Luck to you!!

Kat

I just had my first fill yesterday at 2.5cc in a 10cc band. Of course I am on liquids right now. But doing fine. After reading I guess 2.5cc for the first fill was alot.

I got a fill to 1.25cc about 4 weeks ago...and it was just fine...then I started throwing up black stuff..thought it was bile. Had my gall bladder out on Oct 24th--it was very diseased and full of stones. Continued to throw up even in the hospital...was back in the hospital for 4 days and finially was told to go on full liquids until I can have my band removed. I am DEVASTATED to say the least. I am 17months out and down 133# and scared to death of gaining the weight back...I already have eaten the kitchen wallpaper and will start on the family room paneling tonight!! All kidding aside,I am VERY upset...and sick of being sick!! I have another upper GI on Nov 29 and then to the doc on Friday to make a decision about gastric bypass....any comments appreciated here or pm me!! thanks!!

My band only holds 4.0 cc . so I don't think you got too big a fill...since yours holds 10....I can hold down diced peaches with splenda todayy...just no meats yet....it's all great ...i just don't get to exercise enough...

Dear Enruffol, I got banded late July, I was experiencing the same thing. After surgery, no change, after my first fill, I could still eat alot, but I could tell a little bit difference but until Monday Nov 12 I had only lost 15 pounds. Nothing like I had thought. Well. Monday I got my second fill. 10cc band. First fill 4cc, 2nd fill 2cc. I was on liquid Mon and Tues. So today I was sooo hungry. Well my husband and I went out to eat and I got 1/2 a chicken salad sandwich and Soup. I ate 1/4 of the 1/2 and most of my cup of soup and was totally full. Yeah, I am so excited now that I have some restriction. So hang in there. I feel better even though I havent lost any weight yet I can atleast feel it working.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
