Struggling

Recommended Posts

I am about 8 weeks post op and I have been struggling with making good eating choices this last week or so. I went on vacation and I feel like that really pushed me over the line. I ate a lot of things I know I shouldn’t over the course of the 5 days with the excuse that it was just this week but now I’m afraid of not being able to stop. I need some encouragement and tips on how to vacation without over eating and feel like I’m losing out. FOMO hardcore right now.

Game plan with your bariatric team to work foods into your plan so no more FOMO and ask for additional supports like therapy or support group

I had a call with my Nut today and have a slight game plan. I know that a lot of us slip up and I’m trying to work through that. Support group is a good idea too.

When I was going on vacation I told my NUT all the foods I wanted to eat and she gave me the green light. I knew how to account for them and that I had to exercise aliitle more as well

Also when I returned I knew I was back to normal plan and I think mentally just having everyone on board was huge

I will have to keep that in mind for next time, it sounds like a great idea! I was working out everyday during the trip, so at least I have one thing still on track. Gotta get my head back into eating right going forward.

What is FOMO? How are you doing, Topher B? I haven't had lengthy vacations yet- I did have 6 days at a camp where I was the camp nurse. I brought plenty of my own Protein due to fear of what would happen if I didn't have enough, and I'm so glad I did! The camp totally skimped on protein!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
