Heart complications after surgery? Only 25yo

Recommended Posts

PPS I used to work at Walmart myself. They have reasonable BP cuffs, I recommend the wrist ones, easy to read even doctors offices use them now. The symptoms you describe are cardiac , now panic and dehydration, even GERD can be mimic them but I guarantee I if you were my age (72) they would put thi, kmonitoring stuff on me before I could say Excuse ME. Let me give you a mini-tutorial. There is a cardiac syndrome fairly recently admitted to and women are more prone. Called microvascular syndrome, your smaller cardiac vessels spasm, unless they can get you at that exact moment they relax and it doesn't brow,on the easier tests. Just a strong possibility. I'm not going to relax until I know you are okay?
I am in the process of trying to get a blood pressure cuff and a heart monitor Bracelet, but I have to wait till we get paid. Even my mom and dad sounds like my blood pressure is dropping during these episodes, and that's why I took the measurement at Walmart to verify. But I need to be able to take more readings to keep track of it. The doctors office has a tendency to get measurements when nothing is happening.

((hugs and so sorry you're dealing with this)) If the cardiologist doesn't order these tests, please make sure to request them--forcefully if nec:

1. Echo with whatever contrast or full voodoo they do so well. (There is a "lesser one" and a full one. You want the full one.)

2. Perhaps an MRI if the echo is inconclusive.

3. You want a holter monitor test where you wear the holter over the weekend. The weekend! Not just overnight on a weekday. Then you want to precipitate attacks by doing whatever you are doing when it happens. If nec, go straight to the ER if you feel bad, while your symptoms are peaking. Don't wait to not go. So get ready first. Do your whatever, bring on an episode, and go to the ER. Then insist on cardiac labs being done--maybe even ask about blood gases?

Hang in there and keep pushing to get attention about this.

Thank you so much for the info and concern. I had to use a holter monitor a long time ago in the past... Can't quite remember the verdict. I really hope something comes out of this visit though. At this point all I have to do to bring on the symptoms is get up and do anything. ANYTHING. it was never this bad.

countryray2001 how are you doing? The symptoms you describe sound like classic A-Fib. It is treated by beta-blokers to reduce heart rate. Atrial fibrillation

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
