Aaaargh!!! conflicting advice

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I hope that you can give me some help here.

Before I even had surgery I asked to speak to one of surgicare's (my clinic) fitness experts. I specifically asked him about using my power plate, and he went away and rang back to tell me that 1 week post-op I would be fine to use it. I asked him about all sorts of exercises and basically he told me to listen to my body and build it up.

I have merrily been using my plate, doing my crunches, a bit of light weight training ( I am crap at cardio, but I am joining a gym next week) and now looking at the posts on here I am worried that I have dislodged my band/stopped it healing properly! Surely I would know if I had???

HELP if I dont work out my weight loss will stop - I know what my body is like - and if that happens then I will get negged out - I have to stay in the zone if you know what I mean :faint:

Nina xx

My thoughts are that your doctor is the expert. I would go by the advice that your doctor gave you. If you are unsure, get a second opinion from another doctor. These threads are a great support but always get medical advice from a medical expert.

Hope that helps

Cindy

I truly believe that if you'd done any damage by working out, you would KNOW. I mean, if you haven't noticed anything painful or strange while you're working out, then, I wouldn't worry, and keep on, keeping on!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
